[PRESS RELEASE] 75192 - UCS Millennium Falcon 2017

Recommended Posts

Sorry... $400.... NZ$, (about $288US). The RRP of the X-Wing, Snowspeeder etc is usually $399, so you'd be lucky if any of the smaller UCS ships will qualify.

Australia's free shipping is only $200 and the UCS sets are generally $300 here. Our prices are bad enough as is, but hearing NZ's prices makes me so upset.

In other news, AusPost still has my Falcon listed as "processing." I guess it's time to call and complain, but I doubt there's much they can do about it.

The free shipping threshold for ordering via Lego S@H in NZ is prohibitive!

You might be surprised. They will tell you to allow 9 days to arrive in Australia and another 9 for local delivery but I suspect a call might make the wheel turn.

That doesn't make it better. I think TLG better rethink the free shipping threshold if they want to sell more to us south of the equator.

But in other news, my falcon is now in Chullora. ETA next Wed for me in WA.

I've been thinking about doing something similar, but I can't shake the feeling I would drive 140 miles (225 km), stay overnight, and end up being the 11th person in line.  That's a very long drive to just end up not getting a set.

My biggest worry was that either another mall entrance would open before mine and that by the time I got to the store from the entrance there would already be 10+ people in line. Either that or there there would be a crowd at the mall entrance and a mad dash to the lego store to form the official line and I'm no match to many that are younger and faster then I am. Fortunately neither of those happened.  I ended up being the first in line by over 35 minutes.  If you go I just say do your homework.  I talked to the Lego Store employees to find out the tips they had, found out who would be there at opening the next day, asked them which mall entrance I should use, and told them to expect me.  I think I even stated that my goal was to be the first person in line.  I then talked to no less then 3 people from mall security.  I should also say that the entrance they told me would open first was the one nearest the security office, not the one nearest the Lego store which is what the Lego store employees had suggested I use.  The first 2 security people I talked to just gave me the official line that the doors open at 7am.  It was the 3rd one that I talked to that give me tips on how I might be able to get in before 7am.  I did think it funny that security was pretty much telling me I could sneak in with mall employee's early.  So not only was I standing in front of the lego store in the mall 45 minutes before the official door opening but those that should up 2nd, 3rd, and 4th all came from the opposite direction I had come from.  I believe they had stood at the entrance that the Lego Store had suggested using.  I had come in at effectively the opposite end of the mall right next to the security office.  When the 2nd guy showed up he was actually surprised to see me there as I think he was likely the first one in that closer entrance when those doors opened.

Also there were no young kids in the line at all.  All adults that were likely as slow as me.  And all were very civil and friendly.  People held the spot in line for others that left to go use the restroom, etc. during the 3+ hour wait for the LEGO store to open.

My only interest with the falcon is what the special black VIP card would bring for members next year, since I'm not going to buy it, hopefully it will be just special deals and no exclusive figures. But the falcon is a bit tooooo expensive just to buy in case of maybe getting some good exclusive stuff in 2018.

I read somewhere it will be a combination of exclusive discounts, exclusive double points promos and exclusive gifts. I'm not too sure how true that is but I'll try to find the artical that listed those benefits.

Well, it sound likely. I think that they need to do special promotions for at least one time a quarter for people not to feel cheated. In the end though, it will pretty much be the exclusive gifts that determine how well it be worth to purchase the falcon now, rather than to wait a couple of years to get it on discount or second hand.

After I woke up this morning and it was still on "processing" I gave AusPost a call and complained about how my packages always sit at Alexandria for weeks on end. They took my tracking number and told me they'd forward the complaint to the center so hopefully it'll kick start the process. Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll arrive tomorrow, but I doubt it. Such a shame that it won't come before the long weekend.

I got an email this morning saying mine will be delivered today after been processed from Chullorra yesterday.

I do not beleive that Alexandria is accurate from the lego tracking. They tell you to only look at Auspost tracking after 8-10ish days. I am inclined to believe the Alexandria thing is just Auspost accepting lego's shipping information and not actually taking delivery of the parcel. Unless they came from an Australian warehouse it was never going to arrive from Europe that quickly.

It sounds like it won't come till next week :sceptic:. It will generally take a couple of days once it starts to move in the Auspost system. I hope you get it soon!

Cool! And it seems you are correct. I got this from Lego when I contacted them

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

Your package is in route to Alexandria Buisness hub DWS from our warehouse in Belgium.  Although it indicates it's arrived on the DHL tracking it actually can take up to 9 days to arrive.  Once it does you can begin to track your packages journey to you which can be another 9 business days.

The weird thing is the sender is listed as Lego Australia with the Australian head office address. I suspect that label is put on once it's at the Alexandria business hub.

Yeah I would say so. Bit annoyed i still got carded an intentional fee on my credit card though....

Though mine arrived just after lunch today. So took less than a day after it arrived at Auspost which I am pretty happy with.

I got a backorder date on my Falcon, purchased from the US site.  I was told October 8th.  I think I finally got my order to through around 8 AM central time on Force Friday.

Will someone be so kind as to tell me what are the dimensions (Height, Width, and Length) of their package that the UCS Millenium Falcon was shipped in? I am using a US APO address and I am a bit concerned of their size restrictions...

Thanks

Just received this in an email from Lego this morning:

Hello LEGO® Star Wars™ Fan,

As you may know, the new LEGO® Star Wars™ Millennium Falcon (75192), our largest LEGO set ever, went on sale exclusively to VIP Members on September 14. We are very excited that we received such a positive response from fans like yourself, it exceeded all of our expectations! Unfortunately, that also means the first batch has already sold out.

The good news is we are making more as quickly as possible and expect to have very limited quantities available for the remainder of 2017. We have extended the VIP-only access period, which means the new inventory will remain exclusive to VIPs at least through November.

To make your wait a little easier, you can now sign up to receive back-in-stock notifications. Simply confirm your interest below and we’ll email you when a new batch of the Millennium Falcon (75192) is available on shop.LEGO.com

If you'd rather make your purchase at your favorite LEGO Brand Retail store, please call or visit your local store starting Friday 9/29 and ask a Brick Specialist to add you to the wait list.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, we are doing everything we can to keep up with the demand from our loyal LEGO fans like yourself!

*Please note, stock will be in very limited supply and each batch will likely sell out quickly. Signing up for notifications does not guarantee availability of the product.

I'm sure this is a duh question but, with the announcement made today by LEGO about the VIP extension and wait list offered, can anyone officially say whether the UCS MF will be eligible for Double Points when the promo begins later in Oct. and how will this work for those of us on the wait list? Does the transaction go by the purchase date or mailing date? I know some on here are saying that they'll receive what they already ordered in September after the October 10 promo begins, and others may get lucky during the promo period having their wait list order fulfilled. I just wonder because getting DP's for an $800 set is HUGE.

After speaking to customer services towards the end of the last points promotion they said categorically the points apply to when items are purchased - though obviously you don't actually get them until its shipped.  In saying that I would fully expect the MF to be excluded from points offers in the near future but you never know.

Thanks Starbug,

This is definitely something that has never happened on this scale. To me points = money and 1,600 points from one purchase would be grand, and I'd really be upset if the "timing" denied me of that many to use later. I will get on the wait list and see what happens, but I'd be ok holding out for a DP promo to help with any future large purchases.

I had this out with The LEGO shop call center before when ordering the POC Ship. It that arrived during a double VIP PROMOTION after being on backorder first. They said they don’t grant double points on backorders. So I told them I will send this one back and order a new one to get double points. They very obligingly helped and processed the return and new order. Utter madness!
