All of the 2H sets just showed up on Lego.com, except for 42080.

The description for the 42080 almost says it all:

Quote

Comes with a green, white, black, gray, red and yellow color scheme.

"Almost" because they forgot lime green. :devil_laugh:

But I think this year we have 6 sets with drivetrain (differential and engine):

- 42075 (one diff)

- 42077 (one diff)

- 42078 (two diff's)

- 42079 (one diff)

- 42082 (two diff's)

- 42083 (two diff's)

And (I assume) seven sets with over 1000 parts...

The Forklift(42079) has a differential?  I saw on Lego.com that it has a 2-cyl engine, but with such a low piece count, and the fact that most models in previous releases with 400-600 pieces only have just a gear and an opposing one turning 1 of the rear wheels surprises me.  Is this really the case?

Only one I can afford this summer, but would be great if it had a real diff.

Set 42075 First Responder 513 pcs also has a differential.

Yeah, I forgot about that model having a diff.  I was just going back to models of previous years and 42049 which is approximately on level with 42082 (piece count) did not have diff, just a gear setup to spin one rear wheel.

Yes indeed it did, thanks.

Usually TRU would already have these sets out by now, at least in Michigan, USA.  Just really too bad they are no longer.  Have to go to the Lego store, unfortunately kind of a drive, but worth it.  The whole lineup looks good this year, the Volvo is a strange beast.

Stinks I only have the budget for 42079, but hopefully I get back to work soon so I can get the rest of the lineup.

Most definitely better than last summer's sets.

@DarkShadow73

The Volvo is the beast from future, but I agree it is j retesting line up this year

42079 is very nice set and finally forklift truck with engine, differential, steering and of course main function which gave the name for this type of machine. If you are patient enough wait several months and you will get sets cheaper

42049? It has less than 500 parts and 42082 has over 4k...

Is it just me, or have parts list become denser in the past few years.

For example, the MB Arocs had 2793 parts, and 3 pages for the list.

But the Rough Terrain Crane has 4057 and only 2 pages.

Is this just to save paper?

They should rather decrease the steps in the building instructions if they really want to save paper

MB Arocs have tubes.

And the Bugatti has 3599, and 4 pages. I think it has to do with the amount of unique pieces, and the size of some pieces (bigger parts require more space).

Obviously, the number of pages is depending on the number of unique pieces. More unique pieces means more pages. It's that simple. The actual question is whether TLG deliberately has reduced the number of unique pieces in the 42082. I think there is some correlation between the price of a set and the number of unique pieces (regarding packaging etc), but I am not totally sure.

Guys, since when do Technic sets get the small TM mark on their boxes at the Technic sign? I've just noticed it while browsing my 42082's box.

I'm kinda happy that it grew to a trademark...

I did mean 42075, that was one of those 'I'm really tired right now' type mistakes...obviously knew the 42082 was huge.

Yes the 42079 is impressive from a technical standpoint of having all the systems..the 8416 Forklift from 2005 was the best thus far, but I was surprised at the lack of an engine and diff for 720 pcs, still the granddaddy of forklifts tho, sits proudly in my collection as well.

Here in Hungary the new sets are available already for a few days, these are the lowest prices at the moment:
42079 - 44 EUR
42080 - 113 EUR
42081 - 103 EUR
42082 - 205 EUR

I'll probably wait until October to use 20% discount...but it is a long way to October ...
