With the added axle hole the valve looks even better than my original sketch idea I posted in 2011!

Weather they saw this or not I'm feeling very well listened to by TLG right now, thank you TLG   but of course I have many other ideas

BTW they say that the blade is pneumatic as well! I suspect that means it turns through 180 degrees or something, but if it turns continuously?!!!!

I confirm:

- new power founctions 2.0 on train (controllable both by app or by means of a new remote)

- new pneumatic valves with axle hole to control them (as already stated before)

- the Volvo will be fully manual... but it’ BIG (bigger than the CLAAS)

- the secondary model of the Volvo will be a Volvo autonomous truck

- Forest thingy have PF motorized compressor, with two valves for boom and pinch/blade (blade is pneumatic, too).

- forest harvester secondary model will be a forest manipulator

- the crane is HUGE.... no HUGER!

PF motorized with only one L motor.

all functions controlled with both function and direction control by a single lever (boom elevation, extension and winch).

have 4 wheels steering, 8V fake engine and motorized superstructure turning and stabilizer deployment.

What about 42079?

It's a forklift. It has forks and it lifts.

One for all of the functions:

moving left-right chooses the function, moving forward-back chooses the direction.

superstructure turning and outriggers controls are in the base.

Boom is 1 stage

Outriggers seem 1 stage

It was on a shelf, not playable and not shown, unfortunately.

I can confirm it has cables to lift forks

I seriously hope that's just a typo, on the prelim images in the 2018 catalogue there was difinitely an XL motor on the box.

If they changed that to an L motor it would be disappointing imo.

42009 and 42042 only needed an L-motor to operate. Granted, 42009 was a bit underpowered, but 42082's system looks similar to '42's, and those building parts don't look too heavy. I'd say the L is standard for cranes now.

I was on the wrong side of the desk, while they demoed it... it could be an XL... but if I heard correctly, the guy showing it told us it’s an L.

Fingers crossed then, so much more torque in an XL compared to an L, if the crane is as massive as they say it'll need lifting power to match its size...

Prelim box said '2 in 1' so I'd guess so. Funnily enough, 42079 doesn't. 

I confirm it’s 2 in 1, but there was only one box and I wasn’t able to see behind it.... sorry.

Yer, rope and pulleys. Something like 8416, but the set is much smaller.

Some have said that 8416 was too big for its functions, so scaling back a model in the same mould is a good idea in my book.

Yeah, the valve changeover action could work the same as the function switcher on 8043. I don't think 42080 includes a remote control, though.

Does someone know if the new power functions 2.0 uses the "old / current" connecting plugs or new ones like for example from the Boost set?

 

Supporting the old ones would make sense. 

However, with new ones LEGO would "force" people to buy / upgrade all there motors ( so more money for LEGO ).

Yes, the servo has a 90 degree range, the valve definitely does not.
However you can gear it down, or you can use a train controller/sbrick/buwizz for precise controls.

Someone mentioned before, that the blade of the harvester is moving powered by pneumatic. 

So, can it be understood as a confirmation of a pneumatic motor?
