Anyone remember this B model?

image.jpeg.1bcd0fdb72f3b1c024d1849ea09832ec.jpeg

I personally think it sucks. So I decided to rebuild it, but as a  C model of set 42054.

These are the functions the finished model will have:

-Crane stage 1 (motorized)

-Crane stage 2 (motorized)

-Front ripper blade (motorized)

-Grabber (manual)

-Articulated steering (manual)

-Simulated suspension

Here's what I have so far:

This is the rear with the basis for the crane.

This is the 2 axis articulated joint. This gives a simulated suspension.

So that's it for now! Stay tuned for updates, as they will be coming soon!

It could be great C model, you have almost 2000 parts and what is most important 4 Tires that worj also for forestry equipment and not only for agricultural equipment. I'll keep my fingers crossed (from time to time, otherwise I would do enything) ...and as I mentioned on other topic Unimog is under reconstruction

Looking foward to it. All of your c models are exellent and I hope this will always be like that

Thank you! I'm glad you think my C models are great, because the idea of C models got me into lego in the first place.

Interesting idea, it was one of my first thoughts about C model for that set. Looking forward for the finished model. Why you have decided to use small turntable in the middle of the frame, instead of using pendular axle on the front?

Problem with making a skidder even on 107mm wheels is that they are still too small for a bigger model :) Real machine uses really big tires, so even with Xerion tires this model will be relativelly small.

There isn't enough space to insert a pendular axle. You'll see in the next update, tomorrow.

Correct. The model so far isn't very big. Again, you'll see tomorrow.

okay I'm interested...bring it on!!

Great!

Update time!

So today I got around to starting the front section. I added the second multidirectional gearbox, which will control the front blade. As well, I added the wheel mountings.

@M_longer Here's why a front pendular axle isn't possible (above picture).

IMG_3789

The M motor has yet to be added.

Sorry for the picture quality.

So That's it for now. New updates should be coming out tomorrow.

Have a great day!

I think the chassis is coming along really nicely :classic:

And those tires fit this theme so well!

Thank you! The tires inspired this one:wink:

Yep, tires are the most important thing in a build. They decide the scale and the looks.Something I have yet to learn:cry_sad:

It is possible, You have only one Technic axle going to front. You could rebuild the front axle with using small turntable to incorporate it as pivot point. Give it a try.

I'll see what I can do.

UPDATE TIME!

@M_longer , I added the pendular axle. It required a full rebuild of the front end and part of the rear (to take out the turntable). The ripper function was also rebuilt and the blade was added.

Rebuild of the front (below):

M motor added:

Seat added:

Everything so far:

The crane also got beefed up. The big thing I have to worry about is BB placement.

So That's all! Have a great day!

Wouldn't this be a D-model?

Nice progress, crane is looking nice.Btw did the original come with suspension of any kind?

The original did not come with suspension, just an excess of turntables ;)

This is a d model! I should change that.

3 turntables: 2 big, 1 small @ThatOneBuilder

You could make a really interesting vehicle with the two large turntables... something like a rock crawler maybe with pendular suspension and really, really unfitting tires

"Impossible is nothing".

But I think that chassis should be shortened:
