I wonder why Mighty Morphin Power Rangers only got one poll vote? Why doesn't anyone think the MMPR project will pass the review?

Lack of a large audience and Ideas sets don't get specialist moulds so I don't know how it slipped through.

Oh, okay. Thank you for the reason why MMPR might not pass.

Two reasons I can see the project being rejected is because, one, the franchise might be considered too similar to the Voltron franchise; and two, the franchise somewhat resembles Lego's Ninjago in a way. :shrug_confused:

But, I do remember when the project passed the 10K milestone, Sabin's Global Consumer Product Director did say the franchise's license with Mega Construx was non-exclusive, according to this article from The Brick Fan.

Quote

Update: It has been confirmed by Jason Bischoff, Director of Global Consumer Products for Saban Brands, that the current license with Mega Construx Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is non-exclusive which means that LEGO is free to negotiate with Saban on a licensing agreement.

There is nothing about the MEGA deal that prevents us from exploring LEGO ideas.

They haven't done the Power Rangers one yet, have they?

Hasan Jensen, who works for LEGO Ideas, commented on my question regarding why BruceyWan hasn't gotten a 10K Club interview on his Power Rangers project.

Please note that not all 10K members wish to or are able to participate in interviews for whatever reason that may be.

Definitely not in this case. Bruceywan is professional lego artist and long time AFOL Bruce Lowell, whom the Lowell sphere is named for.

When will the results be announced? Is there a confirmed date or will it just happen when it happens?

Well, the Ideas team hasn't done a 10K Club interview since Oct. 9th, and I don't think they've necessarily finished them yet; so, I'm not too sure sure when to expect the results if we don't have that as a indication. :def_shrug:

On the other hand, it has recently been rumored that actually the Tron Lightcycle project may be the approved one, based upon this one post made here on Eurobricks back on the fifth of this month.

Personally I'm hoping for the Red Arrow set!! And I may be lucky as the school I work at recently got information about a kids competition being run by the RAF Association to design posters to mark the Centenary of the formation of the RAF next year. One of the prizes it mentions is.... A Lego Red Arrow set!!! (although a bit of googling has shown that there are (pretty crappy looking!) knock off/ clone brand sets already available but I really hope they don't mean them and the poster does say Lego on it!!)

Anyway, fingers crossed!!!

That rumour is the main reason I'm anxiously awaiting the results. I'd kill for a Tron set

If the project does (or already has) been approved, I hope that the design team will clean up the initial project model, as I find it to be too chunky and cumbersome looking. I'd presume they would have to do so to comply with the licensing requirements.

No results yet?

LEGO really needs to optimize the way they do these reviews. There are only 6 weeks left until the next deadline

You know what, perhaps Lego will end up announcing the results of both reviews concurrently, as so to piggyback the good news of the results for the First 2017 Review with the bad news of the hypothetical rejection of all six projects for the Second 2017 Review. Simply because, that Second review just doesn't look promising.

If they did that they could do 3-4 from the First 2017. Though, Wonders Of Peru is the only one I'd buy-but it's probably too big. After all, Gilmore Girls- TV show no kids will know and no teens will know; two space sets and aircraft a little samey; after all we have one space shuttle already coming out and I am your father like this set https://brickset.com/sets/75093-1/Death-Star-Final-Duel. Still, checking the Lego ideas blog every day- they reallllly need to hurry up...

@Digger of Bricks is it time to make a Second Lego Ideas Review Guessing Game? Or after the results? :sweet:

Definitely after the announcement for the results of the First 2017 Review, because you never know if one of those projects from the First Review will carry over to the Second 2017 Review for further consideration. :classic:

Someone has posted on brickset that Tron is in a catalogue (I presume a trade catalogue). No evidence posted, and a newly signed up account too so could well be a wind up.

If that is indeed the case, that would mean TLG had chosen and developed the project as a set long before its announcement, which even now has yet to happen.

Yes. I doubt there is much work to do on it, since it is so small but it would be very surprising that they would name it in a catalogue before the actual announcement. Especially when they use a code name for Voltron.
