Service Status: Still looking for somebody to perform this task.

Hello, as the title states; I am for looking for somebody who can digitally design me a imperial base with a budget of $300 in total as well as create a list of bricks to purchase from bricklink so I can build it myself. I expect the model to be detailed, high quality, and look good.

I never made any builds digitally so I'm not sure how I would be able to rebuild it from a online model but I'm sure you can help with that.

Total build budget is $300. You get paid the remaining amount after cost of bricks. So for example, if the build costs $200 from the bricks, then you get $100 as payment.

You may use any software as long as it can be easily reproduced physically.  I think stud.io would be a good software to use as it links with bricklink to buy parts easily.

Here are the specifications and features of the build.  Also includes picture examples from similar MOCs and feedback on them. This document has been recently revised with more detail on 7/24, https://pastebin.com/9FDgvCRB

Post here or PM me if you are interested in doing this service.

If we do build you one that you like and end up building what would we get out of it besides building a cool base?

The budget is $300 in total. You get paid for your work and the overall build.

Ryancup, what country are you in? Because if you are in the USA, builders outside of the USA will meet resistance due to shipping fees and other various import restrictions. The same could likely be said for any other country hiring out-of-country labor. The fixed budget of $300.00 is reasonable. You could likely build a 10188 Death Star sized station/bunker or larger with that. Now the question becomes: how much of that budget would builders want for themselves

I kind of like the idea of tapping gifted MOC-ers for specific projects - and you certainly came to the right place to fish for talent. But there's something that strikes me as logistically nightmarish about shipping such a big/delicate project to someone. What happens if the courier gets sloppy and it ends up in a bunch of pieces? What happens if you yourself demolish it when opening the box(es)? Has anyone ever successfully pulled a job/commission off like this on this forum?

TL,DR: I'd commission a model builder and then build the final design locally with Bricklinked parts. Separate the brick budget and payment to the designer. Just my two bits. Hope I don't come off as sanctimonious, I wish you well with your build. :thumbup:

Good idea, do you know any model builders that I could contact regarding this to design a digital version of the build then compiling a list of parts to purchase from bricklink?

Ok, here is the thing. Say I put 10 hours into designing and making a digital brick link list of the parts, that's 10 hours of my time I could be doing other mocs or working at my real job. And after I finish it, you have to like it or else my 10 hours go to waste. I also don't understand the methods of build and payment. Do we use our parts and programs to design this and then you pay us $60 US? Or do you give us $300 to buy parts and build it and then ship it to you and then you send us the $60? Or do you want us to do it 100% online/with a software, get you the instructions and bricklink list and then you pay us the $60? I'm a little confused...

You first design the build digitally then we look over it and make revisions until its finalized. Then I can make the payment and you can send the file and list of bricks.

Originally it was supposed to be that the other person builds it with the $300 budget and they would get like $100 as payment for building it, collecting the materials, etc. But after a recommendation to not do this due to shipping and scamming concerns I decided to just build it myself unless the other person is reputable and can ship it carefully so that it doesn't break.

I'm a little confused myself on how to do this myself now but I think the best way would be by having somebody designing it digitally then building it myself.

@Ryancup,

What you've done here is basically put out a post which belongs in the B/S/T/F forum.  As you are still WELL under the required posts, I'm going to shut this down.  If a member chooses to partake on this adventure, I will only say this...

That member is building/designing a build for someone without a set fee, only a fee of whatever $$$ remains after parts are purchased.
