Good ldd instructions

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Anyone know where to generate or rearrange ldd instructions? Not the ones ldd provide, they are impossible to follow.

P. S. WEBSITES ARE FINE.

You might want to check out this topic:

Otherwise you could convert the LDD file to LDraw - which could then be made into instructions with LPub3D.

Otherwise you can try to improve the instructions generated by LDD using groups.
You can find a link to the explanation in the Section Index (one of the two pinned topics in this section).

Probably it is not the best solution, but it don't require any external tool.

How to convert Ldd to ldraw?

You can convert to ldraw with these steps:

  1.  In LDD go to file -> export
  2. In the export box set save as type to Ldraw-file.

See the screenshot.

However, based on my personal experience if you have already done a model in LDD using blueprint is easier. Because for LPub3d as well you need to first arrange the parts in different steps manually.

Unfortunately there is no easy way to create instructions unless you build the model that way in any of the ldraw tools (e.g. LDCad, MLcad or stud.io.

A tutorial is available here.

A wiki is available with plenty of documentation.

This program works better than LDD's own exporter I believe:

You would have got the info already but just to complete the info.

This is the main thread, fortunately we have a developer himself on EB to help us out :)
