Calm down everybody. Why don't we encourage him and give more advices so that it will look more similar to McLaren?

That's what Eurobricks is for, I believe so.

the lambo maybe looks better, but it has not susspension and real chassis, it is only a go kart chassis with lambo design, also he has a lot of design parts from his lego porsche.

If this is a competition to make a real car, so what about the chassis, he can do now he choses, And If You thought they Had better parts, Why challenge Them? That Is Silly.

I suggest to get out the competition part from Eurobricks between you two, and keep it on other forums. It is rather disturbing here, than valuable, I felt like falling in a black hole while reading this topic through... please don't turn EB to FB / Insta / etc... Milan asked all members kindly in this topic too, how to proceed: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/151628-announcement-for-members-made-contests/

Let's focus on the build itself, as a stand alone object, and judge accordingly. It is a nice start, with lot of improvement potential - this comes with time, and experience. I would also improve some connections, not to rely only on one pin for example. Curved lines are hard to replicate with current LEGO sortiment, a McLaren type of object is probably one of the hardest task to translate into LEGO - even for professional builders. I would also start with fictional design, or with cube-like ones from the 70'-80's.

p.s.: to all youngsters collegues: please take care about proper grammar and punctuation, many of the comments here is hard to read and understand. Language, as complex communication form is one of the main advantage of mankind, use it without fear - but with respect in order to share knowledge.

Does this look like a McLaren?

lego-speed-champions-75880_0.jpg

Or this?

Ridiculous to call them “models” of something, but hey - everybody relax a bit and let the children play and have fun with whatever they want, the police is very kind and tolerant around here .

IMO the best looking Lego McLaren MP4 so far is the one from Dikkie Klijn, although it can´t be considered as a Technic Model and besides that is very fragile, so no real comparison is allowed here:

@LEGO ADAM: don´t get discouraged, get creative no matter how many parts you own, go ahead and take a step forward by using blueprints - it´s simple as that!

To me the point of this is having fun.  If the OP says its a McLaren, then its a McLaren because it is his version of it.  I think the construction is limited by the parts available rather than the ability of the builder.

And if you show only body on video, there are no ways to know what's inside. :)

Yeah, forgot to mention this.

If the chassis is such a masterpiece which is what it seems from your words, could you record a video with the chassis only?

(And maybe call it a Corvette)

Our votes would probably change :)

THE MCLAREN MP4-12C VS LAMBORGHINI GALLARDO

This is a competition between me and one really good chanel- Babas custom lego creations. This is not our first collaboration, but now is a mid-level supercar competition, and you can vote between me and Baba.

SOMETHING ABOUT THE MCLAREN

I think, this is the most realistic car from my garage, also i spent a lot of time on things like butterfly doors or front axle. It is not so fast, because of the real suspension system and real motor placement, but lego car with real chassis cant be very fast.

I didn't realise you were on eurobricks,

sorry if I am a bit harsh,

but TBH it doesn't really resemble a McLaren at all, the rear is the only part that sort of resembles a car.

And you forgot to even show what the other car is like, so we can't say which is better.

If you knew from the start that you don't have enought parts why did you pick such a large scale project?

I made a rule that we made the same scale car, @LEGO ADAM broke it...

because in small scale model i cant have this super suspension

Mine didn't include suspension, and if you didn't break the rules yours wouldn't have either

I think I'm right that this is the Lambo you are in competition with:

For anyone else who was struggling to find a link to it from the video etc.

FWIW I prefer the Lambo, it looks like what it is supposed to and the performance seems to be superior

Yes

@legotechnicisawesome

Please use forum's emoticons. At the scale of your car, front and rear suspension is also possible , even without specialised parts.

Since when did you become a forum moderator? Also it would be less detailed with suspension, parts like the engine and hood would not fit.

I know that your car is that, I never saw the original link in video to it (kindle takes out yt links) and was not sure if it was only on yt.

I prefer yours.

Please do not forget that this topic is about McLaren, not about Gallardo.

Yes, sorry. The conversation went to that because of the mentioning of their 1v1.

Presenting the model is fine and encouraged, but arguing over your YouTube competition here on EB is not acceptable.

I didn't realize you were (again) on Eurobricks, either, @legotechnicisawesome. We need to have a PM chat. I guess you already know why.

@LEGO ADAM I need to have a word with you, too.

I won't put you into isolated section of the forum right now, but I will ask both of you not to post anything until we solve this via PM.
