Even though only one guard seemed poisoned, the Heroes start to make quick work of the enemies. Petaldan accidentally whacks Vindsval, but luckily nothing bad happens. Vindsval deals a massive hit to one of the guards, also promising to bring even more pain if the guard goes after a Hero. Matthias fires off his hand cannon and seriously injures others. Addok-Zo even gets in on the powerful attacks and takes three quick shots. Ezeran uses his skills to half his target’s health, which allows Matthias to follow up with another powerful shot and kill the second guard.

Vindsval looks down at the tiny knight as he slashes at his shin.  

Easy young one, the enemy is before you not at your side.

Vindsval continues his attack against the 4th Guard from the Front Row with Ludeas.

Luke Heal anyone who is hurt.

Galedo, stay behind us.  There is no need for you to die.

Luke Heals the first hero in need of healing from the back row.  If no one is injured he does nothing.

Galedo does nothing from the back row.

Matthias' second shot should have done 228 damage to Guard 1 (since he was fragile from the first hit), knocking Guard 1 out (in addition to Guard 2), and 114 damage to Guard 3, leaving Guard 3 with 150-114=36 health. Matthias should receive 20 gold for killing two humanoids. On the negative side, only his actual targets become fragile; the "above/below" hits from the Extraordinaire only deal damage. This means that Lead Guard is not Fragile.

Matthias attacks Lead Guard, then stands by to heal anyone who needs it before attacking Guard 3.

Ezeran attacks Woozy again Wwith  a fire spell,  if Woozy gets knocked Down he attacks guard 4 otherwise he attacks him twice.

Petaldan, after his error, takes up a defensive position, protecting everyone when they go again. Vindsval follows up with a bone-crushing hit. Matthias uses his weapon to blast one of the guards into the afterlife, simultaneously injuring others.Addok-Zo isn't to be out done as he lines up his crossbow and shaves off more health of the furry mercenary. Ezeran unfortunately is puked on, recieving some of the medicine the party gave out in the well, but he quickly follows up with a spell on the sick guard. Matthias finishes off the Woozy guiard as well as the group commander and the fourth guard. The Pong Merc watches his allies fall, but he snarls, ready to take the next attack.

Not sure if I am clear in my actions: ">" means that the character is acting from the back row (Matthias always will). Also, it worked out really, really awesome for us this battle, but I think in the future it's better to always choose the lower roll for Luck, even if the Druid SHIELD doesn't do anything when everyone is full health with no negative effects. Most other QMs run battles that way, it is less complicated, and Druids become (even more) OP when the QM is on their side. Just my $0.02.

Those fools could have lived to see another day.  Where is The Young Den?  If he had forced his authority these men would have gone home to their families.  They died well.  Petaldan, you have no guilt in this. You defended yourself when attacked, no more.  We were not the aggressors here.

Vindsval Gathers up what he can find on the bodies, not always the most tasteful pastime, but a common thing among those of the Hall.  Once the belongings are gathered he quickly arranges the bodies into positions of honor.  He puts them on their backs, hands folded around their weapons.  Were this a true field of battle he would remove their heads, but he feels his god will forgive it this time.  

He looks at his companions.

Would any of you claim a specific prize?

Galedo will go to the Trophy room of the Den.

I shrug my shoulders regarding the loot and follow after my fellow shorty in the band, feeling a certain kindred spirit in him.

Galedo leads the goup further into the house, and stopped them in the trophy room. There's a suspicious lack of guards there. But in the center of the room, in an alcove is a gold chalice.

This is another magical item we can't let fall into the wrong hands, like the mural, if we stop Calder. Should we steal it or press forward?"
