This entry is Pre-ESL. Though the Sea Rats end up with the Gold.

Although Freddy had struck it rich, he was again a poor man. He had spent all his money on parties and now was back at work trying to sell his trained chickens. But it wasn't going so well. Last month he had only managed to sell one chicken. He was on his way through town heading to one of the local pubs to drown his sorrows when he was stopped by a respectable looking gentleman that Freddy couldn't help but trust right away. He was such a dapper looking fellow, who wouldn't trust him?

"You look like an enterprising young chap!" the man called out. "Wanna buy a rare jumbo rabbit?"

"Wow!" exclaimed Freddy. "I've never seen a rabbit so big!"

"Yes-sir-ee!" continued the man. "This is one of the rarest rabbits in the world. Legend says one this big is only born once every 100 years!"

"Double wow!" shouted Freddy. "This could be just what I need to break out of my trading slump! How much do you want for him mister?"

BoBS Tomb of the Killer Rabbit

"Well," said the salesman, "as I said, this kind of rabbit is a rarity and a wonder. I don't think I could let him go for anything less than 50 doubloons."

"Oh," said Freddy, crestfallen. "I only have 7 doubloons."

"I'll take it!" cried the salesman. "We have a deal!"

---

Freddy, with his newly bought jumbo rabbit, had immediately set sail to try to find a new fortune. Unfortunately, he had run into a storm that had driven far from the Nest of Thieves and instead towards the coast of the Gunpowder Island (how he got that far in nothing but a row boat, we may never know). Freddy didn't know this though, he still thought he was about to see Bastion on the horizon. After a few more hours of rowing and not seeing the city, he headed towards land to take on fresh water and any food he could find.

But before he could step out of the boat, four natives emerged from the forest.

BoBS Tomb of the Killer Rabbit

Freddy had heard about these natives before. They painted themselves red in honor of the volcano that was on their island. He had also heard that they were a fearsome race so he held out his rabbit with trembling hands, praying that they would eat the rabbit instead of him.

But rather than attack him, the natives seemed in awe of Freddy. The leader motioned at Freddy's jumbo bunny and said, "rabbit, give." Freddy was stunned that these natives knew any english so he just stood in his boat with his mouth hanging open. Mistaking his wonder and amazement for hesitation, the native leader spoke again, "rabbit, trade!"

Freddy wasn't sure what he was about to get in exchange for his rabbit, but he figured it was better than being eaten so he got out of the boat and followed the natives into the jungle.

---

They passed through the native's village where Freddy saw all manner of rabbit emblems. He was beginning to think that this tribe probably worshiped rabbits. He hoped he wasn't about to become a sacrifice to some bunny god. The continued past the village and into the mountains. They approached a fearsome looking rock formation.

BoBS Tomb of the Killer Rabbit

"Tomb." stated the native leader. "Killer rabbit." Freddy was glad to hear that the "killer rabbit" was dead. But he wasn't sure what he was going to find inside.

BoBS Tomb of the Killer Rabbit

"Trade!" insisted the leader and motioned Freddy into a hidden cave entrance. Freddy left the rabbit with the other natives and ducked past the curtain.

Inside Freddy found his mouth again hanging open.

BoBS Tomb of the Killer Rabbit

He had found a veritable city of gold! He gladly traded the rabbit for as much gold as his rowboat could carry and headed for home (again, no idea how he made it that far in just a rowboat!)

BoBS Tomb of the Killer Rabbit

Back in Bastion, Freddy ran across Sinbad who was still trying to figure out what to do next. Sinbad had no captain and no ship. He had a small amount of treasure still with him from the events that led to the death of the Fang family. But most of it was buried on an island far away. Sinbad needed to find a new crew to join, or another way to make his name in the world. He noticed the gold that Freddy was carrying happily about and wondered where it came from.

BoBS Tomb of the Killer Rabbit

"Where'd you get that gold?" asked Sinbad.

"You won't believe it Sinbad!" cried Freddy. "I found the city of gold!"

This gave Sinbad an idea.

BoBS Tomb of the Killer Rabbit

"Alright then Freddy," threatened Sinbad. "Unless you want to see what I can do with this harpoon, you're going to take me to the gold."

"A-a-a-alright Mr. Sinbad Sir!" stammered Freddy. "But the gold belongs to the natives. They'll only trade it if you have something they want!"

BoBS Tomb of the Killer Rabbit

"And what is it they want?" asked Sinbad.

And so, that was how, a few hours later, Freddy and Sinbad could be seen walking through the streets of Bastion with a crate of rabbits.

BoBS Tomb of the Killer Rabbit

They sailed back to Gunpowder Island and traded for the rest of the gold.

BoBS Tomb of the Killer Rabbit

Sinbad knew that Captain Fheng probably would have figured out a way for both Mardier and himself to profit from the venture. But Sinbad didn't care. Captain Fheng had chosen to fight for an ideal and it had killed him. Sinbad was making his own choices. And this time he was choosing to make a large profit for himself.

That's a long story. I like your builds ,they are great! But this Sinbad, is he supposed to be the bad guy?

Well, if you read his whole story you'll see that he is on the wrong side of the law, he is a murder, a thief, and a torturer. Some may say he's just mis-understood. But if all those things don't make him a "bad-guy" then I don't know what would!

 That first part of the story in particular is quite funny, MKJ, great work with that, and neat job on the builds as well!  While the first one doesn't have too much to it, the dapper looking chap (:pir-laugh:) is great, and I really like that lamp for some reason - and excellent photography.   The second may well be my favorite - great call including the underwater section - and the third definitely looks to host far more gold than one rowboat could carry!

Just to make sure, though, I take it that this build is not in support of Mardier? :pir-grin:

Thanks Garm! I've added a note at the beginning of the entry stating that it is indeed Pro-ESL. Shocking, I know. But I couldn't let Mardier get all that gold  Just goes to show, that I really am in it for what profits best, not in it to stop ESL.

And sometimes he's just an opportunist! But all that makes his story so exciting.

I wonder if this will be the turning point in Sinbad's story where he maybe becomes a captain himself?

True pirate fashion - the moment someone else would get the gold you go and get it for yourself :D

I especially like the animals and plants under water - and the use of the Nexo Knights bad guys. Is there any reason they have yellow eyes? Transparent rocks or weird plants? Or is the vulcano the reason once again?

Well, this was different than most of the entries. Well done! And quite fun! Great torsos for the natives, and I love the bunny staff one of them has. I like your underwater part of the build as well, even though it doesn't have anything to do with the story. Creative build and story all around!

He played his role very well then, I'll tell LaGaufre to keep an eye on him if he ever meets him.

As always, a true piratey style ! Your character took advantage of a situation to grab a good amount of gold !

Well, fair enough, as long as Mardier don't get it I don't mind who's got the money ! :pir-laugh:

A good story with a good realisation! Good builds, I particularly like the evil bunny statue upon the entrance of the cave.

Good job !

This is a fun story. I like that you reused two of the three builds to keep the story going. Great inclusion of BOTH the friends bunny and the new bunnies. I wanted to include the rabbits but LDD hasn't gotten them yet.
