[MOC] TIE Advanced Prototype (aka Inquisitor's TIE) from SW Rebels

Recommended Posts

Hello from France Guys ! I'm Bricks Feeder and it's my first topic on Eurobricks! :)

I show you my MOC of the TIE Advanced Prototype (aka The Sith Inquisitor's TIE) seen on the SW Rebels series.

I will make some pictures of my advance in the future but for the moment, I give you some videos (of my YouTube Channel) of my prototype on LDD.

This MOC is based on the original LEGO set 75082. The "wings" were directly inspired by this forum on Eurobricks (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index...). I'm trying to build a "cool" Interior of the cockpit. For that point, I'm inspired by the awesome TIE Fighters short film. I'm trying to be "accurate" but it's difficult when you found pictures of a subject with different "shapes" or variations of shape between them. So I based my model on the first appearance of this fighter in the Rebels Show...

I made a second version with some upgrades of the articulations of the "wings" to get it stronger. Moreover, I change all the back!

I'll continue to work on it. I am not satisfied yet ! I'll show you my advance and if I can, the real one!

If you have some ideas or constructive criticisms, share with me please! I want to upgrade my skills! :)

Enjoy and have a nice day!

P.S. : If you have the time... Check my You Tube Channel! ;)

Wow ! Your TIE looks very nice and I would like to see it in real bricks ! :)
Can I suggest two things to improve your model ? :
- You should add the engines
- The wings should be longer at the back
You can see it on thoses pictures : http://news.toyark.com/2014/11/17/star-wars-rebels-tie-advanced-prototype-144867

Keep the good work !

Ramses25

Scuse me but Why do you mean by "Add the engines "?

And I think you talked about the fact that the wings are not symmetric by saying "the wing should be longuer At the back". Yes, I know that ;) but I don't know how I Can build It for the moment.

TIE means "Twin Ion Engines". Most of TIE series fighters have two engines at the back. If you look at the back of a TIE Fighter for exemple, you'll see two red dots that are the TIE engines ;) The TIE Advanced Protoype also have two of them.

EDIT : on your first version you had the engines, showed by the 1x1 trans red round plate at the back ;)

For the wing, that's what I was talking about (I can't explain it better sorry ^^). Maybe you should have a look at this model for some ideas ;)

Oh yes! You are right! (I did not doubt it ;) )

No problem! i understand though my english is far from excellent...

Oh thanks for this topic you linked  (Is he the man who built the awesome ghost in LDD?). I'll go working on it! ?

Hi !

The wings look much better in my opinion ;) And I agree with you that the engines break the curve of the snot back. Maybe you should keep your original snot build and add the engines with stickers ?

Thanks! :) I think too.

Moreover, when I look at this picture again, I realized that the dimensions of my MOC are not so bad and stupid... even if my TIE is a little bit bigger.

I'm not for the use of stickers... :/ I prefer using pieces (It's the LEGO challenge after all! ;) ).

I'll try to continue to work on this MOC this week-end. Maybe, I'll post some upgrade during this time.

// ---- EDIT --- //

I work a little on it tonight. I built the second wing (I have to work on the middle part of the wing) and I tried something for the back...

Hie!!

I did some big modifications. Especially, I tried to built a more spherical cockpit.

I think the top is much better as it but.. I'm not at all satisfied with the below...Moreover, with this big changes, I'm not sure of the solidity of the structure...

Unless I have ideas that come to me, I have to do some real tests now.

This MOC is currently made up of 625 pieces.

Some pictures below.

Hie Guys!

It's been a long time! Today, I tried to build the central part of my MOC in order to test the structure! It works! It's fragile during the beginning of the building but it's OK.

I give you some pictures below. (The pieces have not necessarily the right color...)

I continue to work on the underside of the cockpit. I think the rest of the MOC is okay.

Hey man!  I just made an account, figure I should actually comment on this thread.  I love your MOC, you've done an amazing job, and I've loved watching your progression of the model over time!  It's vastly superior to the original Lego version.  In regards to your cockpit interior, I think you've done a fantastic job with the joysticks and the printed panels.  Maybe make one or two of the top ones non-buttons, and something more holographic looking?  That's the only suggestion I've got! :)

Thank you very much DrMuttonchops! :D It's always pleasant!

With the end of my studies, I did not take the time to work on my MOCs and especially this one. I think I see what you mean as improvement and I will look for that next week (I would have finished my studies !!). Also, I have some ideas to make the cockpit more spherical (I'm working on a TIE Fighters too) and improve the strength of the structure.

Thank you to quote me as inspiration for your MOD of the Sith Fury. I prefer the star wars universe after the trilogy than the universe before the prelogy but I will try to think about your MOD next week if I can help you ! ;)

To be continued...

Hi  Guys!

I didn't take the time to really work on this MOC... Like I said I will try to adapt my TIE Fighter Design to this one. I don't know when I will do that and finish it.

So I let you here a link to access to the LDD File of one of my previous versions of This TIE. The next time, I will post something in this topic, It will be the final version... But it's not for now...

If you have build this version, could you send me a picture? I will be very happy to see if my work is around the world! :D

Keep on building in a free world!
