Moc: BB 169

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

Just in time to present it on 22 and 23 April 2017 at Ludicomix in Empoli I completed a new italian diesel locomotive: the BB 169.

Built in 1970 by the Reggian Mechanical Workshops for the italian F.S. was purchased by the Southeast Railways in 1991.

Today it's used in the composition of the historic train "Valle d'Itria Express", along with the carriages Carminati & Toselli and the post wagon DU 951.

The body looks great, but the bogies are disproportionate. I think the frontmost axle on each bogie looks like it is one stud too close to the front. However the buffers are fine where they are.

Beautiful!!! Where six wide is to small and eight is to large, seven is perfect! Thumbs up.

Hi Beck thank for your suggestion. May be that bogie look close to the front but  that's exactly what I saw in some photos of the BB 169. Anyway I'll try to move it a stud back to see how it look.

Great build! It captures all the features of the real train. Well done! And detailing with some nice and clever solutions.
