refriedbeans Posted January 12, 2017 Very doubtful as no set numbers or names have leaked. I also don't think the Cars 2 sets sold very well (I'm not saying they didn't sell at all).

Which is weird since Cars merchandise is in the top three highest selling Disney toy brands along with Star Wars and Frozen. Maybe the Lego version just couldn't catch on compared to the other Cars stuff?
just2good Posted January 12, 2017 Yes, there will be. They will be released under the Duplo and LEGO Juniors lines.

Much like Star Wars succeeded mainly on those amazing 3 1/2" Action Figures back in the day, Cars is all about the Die Cast Hot Wheels sized cars. The Lego sets feel like pale imitations of what the kids want in this case or for this particular IP.

I thought that they'd go well with the Speed Champions range.

As Faefrost said, I think when it comes to Cars toys, die-cast are the big sellers, not sure how well the Lego range sold.
RacerRabbit Posted January 31, 2017 Good news: There are going to be Cars 3 sets after all. Bad news: They're part of the Juniors line.

I like ithat it's going to be part of the juniors theme... It means that the details are going to be prints and NO stickers. :)
Tariq j Posted February 1, 2017 I kind of hope that the new Cars characters are still "in scale" with the original cars characters.

refriedbeans Posted February 14, 2017 I'm glad I was wrong! Can't wait to see the smaller ones since that's all I bought last time. But yes, all I'm interested in as a Cars fan are the 1:55 scale diecasts.
LegoTFGuy Posted February 14, 2017 Y'know, the previous LEGO Cars characters were partially comprised of decent sized vehicle pieces the way it is. There's a good chance that the Juniors sets will be very similar to the Cars 2 figures. They could be made of a large chassis piece, several medium sized vehicle frame parts, and a few smaller pieces for detailing. And as has already been pointed out, Juniors set means no stickers! Interesting, thanks for sharing. I think one of the main reasons they moved the theme to Juniors is because the ridiculously simple builds are better suited for a younger audience. The original Cars line probably would have been under Juniors as well had it been around.
refriedbeans Posted March 19, 2017 I am liking those smaller priced set names! Knowing these won't have stickers makes me even more excited.
