Here are some example bar pieces you could try (just to break up the front window).

Just noticed this topic and I have to see that looks really nice! :thumbup:
But, I have a weak spot for excavators anyway :laugh:

Although, there was one thing I was wondering while looking through all your images: where will you put all the cables? Will there even be enough space for that?

I guess so.Although I think I would of left if squint, just for a laugh.:laugh:

See that middle cable that is higher than the rest(two cables),you could keep it down level with the rest by using a small extension cable to the receiver port instead of the motor cables.

does somebody knows a part which can replace the half pin and fits in the hole at the bevel gear?

Replace black 1 x 2 plates with this:

Then use this(4L):

I think it`ll allow the gear to spin freely, but not 100% sure

Thanks for your suggestion. A idea for the hole under the Bevel gear to hold the slopes not only with one pin?

Yes, if it works, it`ll hold both upper and lower slopes and won`t touch the gear. So, the half-pins are not needed(1 x 1 plates are connected via bar 4l, going from the top to the bottom of the black bracket part).

Hello ,

I'am following this building proces from the beginning ,this is gonne be a real master piece ,and one of the most detailled excavators i have ever seen, build with Lego parts .

In my daily job i'am working at Hyundai excavators ,and this one from Lego (Ok it's a Liebherr :thumbup:)is comming really close to the reallity .

Keep up the good work .

It seems we are witness of another great scale modeler coming to be! Curious though, do you test the mechanical elements before you engineer them in ldd? Or is it all based on experience?

My Experience is in the most times enough to build in ldd. But when it comes to the real build there are often small changes to reduce the part amount or to raise the stiffness.

The moving range is far away from to be enough. To be close to the real thing i would need actuators with the double length. And brickbuilt actuators are far to thick. But transport position is possible, so it is ok for me.

The boom is really tricky and hopefully not to fragile. If not, a Monoblock boom is what i have to do.
