Neat that their will be a pyke in the movie. The minifigs all look great except for chewie even though I see what they’re trying doing. The sets all look nice. They should honestly stop putting capes on troopers. Sometimes it works but it’ll ruin the appeal over time.

Are you talking Star Wars as a whole? Or Lego specifically?

I'm all for movie accuracy,  I really don't understand why people hate capes.

Just Star Wars. Don’t get me wrong, I like capes. But when I see capes on people it should make us believe they are someone important and possibly dangerous. I’m assuming this trooper with the cape is important and not part of a squad that all wear capes. What I am trying to say is I hope this trooper wasn’t made design wise like Phasma only to be used as a somewhat throwaway character.

I can't say that this wave has me overly excited in of itself, the landspeeders look pretty cool but I'll properly reserve judgement on them for when I've seen the film.

As for the TIE/LN I am loving the minifigs - certainly interested in the officer disguises - but not keen on the wing pylons or the top hatch being 4x4 instead of the new piece introduced. I'll wait for a review on that but I'll likely get it.

Definitely getting the battlepacks and Yoda's Hut though. I'm liking R2-D2 with mud.

I was counting on those Phase 2 clones in the battlepack. Though at least it makes getting Phase 1s easier again and doesn't block the possibility of a Phase 2 pack later down the line. Also weird that they switched Coleman for Barris but it makes getting the dress legs easier. Though I find they could have used some waves in the front instead of being straight down.

The TIE Fighter looks the most interesting to me. Really nice cockpit design. I hoped they would release a 6x6 dish hatch with realistic style printing with this. The TIE Advanced and Prototype hatches had a Rebels cartoon style print. But at least they managed to make a better cockpit than what I tried to cobble together in LDD half a year ago or what I see people do on photo sites. I feared we would never get a medium sized Star Wars set of OT/PT designs again that can compete with what MOCcers are doing though it uses new parts with those weird Nexo Shield/Jumper plate hybrids which one could call cheating in a way .

Han Solos disguise with the moulded extra detail and goggles makes me hope for a new AT-AT with updated General Veers.

Is that link someone posted earlier that trustworthy or what exactly are the sources for 75222 600$ Cloud City UCS Set and 75181 240$ UCS Set? Maybe one of that can be an AT-AT?

EDIT: Officer in BP has regular printing. The best thing is we now have a lieutenant rank officer. :sweet:

That style astromech is extremely similar to one I did for Nar Eurbrikka but never posted.

Those tattered Imperial uniforms will be brilliant for Imperial collectors.

Looking at the stormtrooper included with the new TIE it's not just a new print, looks like they are going to revamp every OT stom trooper with this new helmet mold and print design.

Lego has been using the same mold for regular storm troopers since 1999 and they finally are going to change it; I can't wait for having these in my hands.

Also what in heck have they done to Chewie's face? :O

Maybe it's just that whatever world they are stationned in has an insane amount of dirt everywhere and they get to wear those cape to shove of the dust. A lot of figs look very dirty so I assume that to be the case. IMO it looks fine.

This is what I`ve waiting for ..the T.I.E. is the first thing I`ll grab, I also really love the speeders..in my opinion this (mainly) Han Solo line is a step up from the most recent Force awakens/Last Jedi releases.. I hope the prices aren`t too steep, cos I like everything that is on offer here!!

Regards

Kenny

The Stormtrooper in the tie is most likely a specialist as it has helmet plate similar to the FO Pilots on the forehead.

I can't tell if the battlepack stormtrooper like troopers have a new stormtrooper mold or not. Could be.

Disproportionately excited about the new officer in the battle pack. I’ll need to stock up on Batman legs!

Will definitely get one or two battle packs and the TIE fighter. Hope the new stormtrooper helmet mold is only for the grey trooper, I just bought more than a few Rogue One battlepacks with the old helmet mold. :hmpf_bad:

I think you are switching the two mini-figs: the range trooper in the battlepack clearly has an helmet plate and new mold, the visor is clearly different.

The Mimban Stormtrooper that comes with the TIE has two small notches on the temple of his helmet and the mold for the eye goggles area seems also different on the high res pictures. The area around the eye goggles are a lot sharper, it has to be a new mold.

Han Solo's helmet is also a new mold in the tie set; the TIE pilot has a what appears to be a new print but there are so many Lego version of the tie pilot helmet I can't be sure.

So in recap: 3 new trooper's helmets including Han, 2 new alien head molds, new chewbacca head mold, 3 new hair mold (I'm not a Lego hair piece encyclopedia though, I could be wrong ),

the first new star wars mold for a creature in ages; the last one was the Dewback for the 2014 cantina.

This wave is awesome.

Edit: Mystery of this wave though; why is the range trooper buildable figure so drastically different than the ones included in the battlepack? :O

That's a Patrol Trooper, the Range Trooper is the one from the Constraction set  I hope the latter gets the minifig treatment as well further down the line (perhaps in one of the four unknown summer sets?)

As far as I can tell, there's only one new hairpiece that's introduced in these sets, namely Q'ira's (from the speeder set). Her other hairpiece is from the Friends line (though I'm not 100% sure whether the colour is new) and I think Lando's hairpiece is the same one Nakia sports :classic:

I agree, in terms of aliens and creatures, this is one of the best waves in recent memory

Ah, thanks for the clarifications!

It's a trend for star wars movie so far, the spin off movies such as Rogue One and Solo seems to introduce the lion share of new pieces and seem more solid design wise from a subjective view than the trilogy sets, which despite a few good sets here and there did not motivated me to get them.

What happened to my boy Chewie *huh*. I'm also not sold on Lando. I was hoping he wouldn't look to different from the other Lego versions based on Billy Deep Williams just like there's little to no difference between this Han and previous Han's. I'm still hyped to get the new Falcon, especially since I think this will be the only time we'll visit this version of it. Kira looks cute and has a nice new hairpiece (I think), but sadly they also used a friends piece. Also so many aliens! Yoda's hut looks great, I'm happy with his new torso print but was hoping for an original trilogy headmold. The Jedi battle pack is also a must have. Overall I'm happy with these sets.

The 4x4 top hatch reprint was needed in favor of the 6x6 dish with bar, this hatch enables a more clean and round TIE fighter look, whereas the old TIEs using the big hatch gave it a blocky overall finish.

True, I don't know how I was forgetting that really, having the 4x4 will definitely allow me to not have so much backwards protrusion on my TIE Interceptor.

The face of the the Office would be good for Admiral Ozzel, the only problem is the huge sideburns

I really like both the speeders, particularly the smooth look Lego have pulled of with both of them.

Question to you and others who have seen the hi res images and can compare the new TIE to the last one, which I own but haven't opened.

Do you think the difference in the build alone justifies buying the new one?

I'm not really a fan of the new minifigs vs. the old ones, and comparing the images I don't see a tremendous difference.  I'm trying to debate whether to wait for the new TIE or build the old.  I don't mind waiting, and I could always sell the old one and hope the money would cover buying the old minifigs.  I haven't been holding on to the TIE for $, I just haven't had the time or room to build it until now)

(There haven't been hi-res pics of the X-Wing yet, have there?  Again, I own the last non-UCS one that was put out and I'm trying to make the same decision).
