LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!

Recommended Posts

Having seen TLJ last night, I'm quite keen to start discussions on the already released and soon to be released sets in relation to their presence in the actual film. Would it be appropriate to start a separate, spoilers-allowed thread for this?

I placed a thread in the Community under culture and media.  I'll be able to monitor it tomorrow afternoon...as I'm going to get some flapjacks early morning with friends, and then we watch Episode 8.

Meanwhile, I saw the movie last night, so that means I will finally take a proper look at the (already released months ago) Lego sets now, and any upcoming ones too...

Spoiler and discussion post is in community > culture & media. Please discuss Episode 8 there for the next two weeks.

Thank you.

Stash, we're all very appreciative of the effort that you and the other moderators put into keeping this place smooth. Thank you.

Oh I wasn't quoting correctly. I wasn't doubting the price or piece count. I was doubting that it would come with the FO AT-ST head given that it has less pieces than the RO AT-ST head.

Ah, no worries. Sorry if there was any hostility there on my end; I'd certainly agree that the odds that a head is included are slim. :/

I'm really impressed by the official images of the new Cantina set, and I'll be grabbing one as soon as it's available.

I wasn't sure about the Ubrikkian 9000 pod when the first rumours surfaced, but it's certainly an improvement on the 'default' Landspeeder I'd expected.  I'm just wondering if the set includes a light-brick (or similar) or perhaps I'm reading too much from the images?  If you look at the box art on the TRU website it shows the table lamp as a Neon-green, but in other images it's comprised of 3 white 1x1 studs - I guess it could just be artistic licence, but that would really make the set!

I think those are glow in the dark white pieces.

Been loitering around these threads for a little while now and thought I'd get in on the conversation. Hey everyone!

Saw TLJ the other day; loved it, and seeing it again today.

Also, more importantly, noticed a few sites pop up on Google today saying the Ahch-To set is out on the 26th!

Just saw the new, more detailed pictures of the Achc-To Island Training set on Brickset. Loving the set even more, since the small cave has a very neat interior.
Definitely gonna buy this set now :purrr:

Mitch

A clear image of the 75201 First Order AT-ST has leaked. It doesn't look like it's got the parts to complete the cockpit. Piece count of 370 is confirmed now aswell.

I just hope this won't be more expensive than 50€ here in Germany because of the piece count.

Yep seen it. It's basically the worst half of last year's Rogue One AT-ST....

Any hints where the image can be found.

I notice all the new sets are up on S&H in the UK, but that one isn't included. Is it definite part of this wave?

Someone's posted the box on Instagram, really doesn't look like much of a worthwhile buy for anything other than play value (and even then..)

Any news on whether The Defense of Crait can be bought in the UK lego shops yet?

Also are Zavvi known for sending stuff early? They have a pre-order for the Crait set but I was wondering whether or not they actually had it in stock or not because most people online are saying they've got the set already?

Hah, i quite like that set. It does represent that particular scene in the movie very well. Good selection of figures too. The build seems a bit ridiculous, but that is not lego’s fault.  What lego could have done is giving us some greeblish environment that we could use for an alternate build to finish the head. But that is just a big what if.

Having seen clearer images of the AT-ST I am really disappointed that the head of the thing isn't included, that severely decreases its appeal. They really should have increased the price by $10 and included the head and maybe a slightly better elevator platform. I can honestly only see people buying this for the figs, heck I don't even know if I even want to bother getting it and modding a head onto it. On a side note I saw the movie last night and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yeah it'll release later in january-February.

This waves set price are absolutely ridiculous, especially the sandspeeder and mos eisley cantina sets. I might just get the microfighters and possibly crait defense but ill hope the rest of the wave goes cheaper elsewhere.

Hey, not a problem, man. To be honest, it's certainly a little tough to find photographs of the copy of the Q1/Q2  retailer catalog online by now, since a few months have passed since it was initially published. That being said, a quick Google search for "lego 2018 catalog star wars" should get you somewhere.

Great. Thanks so much!

Really like FO AT-ST set even though this name isn't spot on, Battle on Supremacy sounded better in the context. It's exactly what happens in that scene. Minifigure selection is great if it's 40$ for 370 pcs, but if it's 50$, 2 more Stormtroopers should be in the set.

I can promise you that it's $40. (US) Happy about that as well.

US is unequivocally without a doubt firmly priced at $29.99 USD ... i can promise that ... however walmart will start selling it at $29.84 ... can't promise anything in regards to CAD though ...

The new SW sets have just been listed on UK S@H:

75202 Defense of Crait - £74.99
75205 Mos Eisley Cantina - £44.99
75204 Sandspeeder - £34.99
75199 General Grievous' Combat Speeder - 25.99
75200 Ahch-To Island Training - £25.99
75533 Boba Fett - £25.99
75195 Ski Speeder vs. First Order Walker Microfighters - £16.99
75196 A-Wing vs. TIE Silencer Microfighters - £16.99
75197 First Order Specialists Battle Pack - £12.99
75198 Tatooine Battle Pack - £12.99
75193 Millennium Falcon™ Microfighter - £8.99
75194 First Order TIE Fighter™ Microfighter -£8.99

The RRP of Mos Eisley is very disappointing - it's $39.99 in the US (e.g. £26.27!!).  Allowing for VAT @ 20% it should be around £35.... :look:

And, @PickleManDan - you're correct about the table lamp - the reverse of the box shows that it's glow-in-the-dark, which is a nice touch.

i find the grievous set particularly egregious at nearly 20 cents pp ... i know it is because of the 2 minifigs, but still that is ridiculous.

The First Orderr AT-ST is a joke. It better be cheaper then the R1 version.

How can you sell an incomplete set? Especially when there was plenty of material in TLJ to make a set.
