I had a XL motor that wasn't working completely properly (wire wasn't connected properly inside the motor, so it wasn't reliable...) but I just got a replacement, so it wasn't a issue. I usually haven't had issues with my PF parts.

I have a bad experience with PF wires... I have 1 XL motor and 2 M motors of which the internal wires broke. Those motors are quite old (8275 and 8297) but it's still disappointing. It was mostly my own fault for not sorting my pieces and just putting it in the huge bin of parts though...

i had the same happen to 2 of mine but they could easily be lasers :classic:

Damaged taken straight from the new set, or damaged after time?

new parts was the intention

I don't have any faulty PF brand new out of the box.  I do have some go faulty after several non-stop GBC weekend actions.

over the last 4 years, I've probably killed at least 2 motors, with 2 more 'suspect'.... ie: they play well sometimes.. but then randomly stop... Yet to pull them apart and examine.

I've also repaired a couple of Motors too, as often it's just the wire (kinked too badly, etc).. cutting it short, and re-soldering fixes it...

But it's VERY hard to open a motor and reseal without damage.. so the repaired ones look a bit ....ratty...

I have an M-motor with an intermittent cable fault, i.e. it will only run if the cable is held in a certain position. I also have an IR receiver whose top connection on the plug is deformed, meaning nothing can be stacked on top.

1 receiver with a faulty cable,

2 XL motors with faulty cables,

4 M motors with faulty cables,

and I have one rechargeable battery box that only charges when the charger is put in a certain way.

Did you get a refund for the rechargeable battery box

Well, if you ever do get the budget, go for it. They're worth it.

I have a power functions IR receiver which does not work on one of the four channels.   But I switch between two other channels and so it can still be used.
