[MOC] Scarif by ChtiLUG

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody, it's my first post on this forum , but i follow it since two years.

Well, it's time for us to share with you the current project "Scarif By ChtiLUG".

After the end of this great adventure that was the dio The Walking Dead, it was time for the rest of the team to head towards a new project.
And to say that the viewing of Rogue One in family was the trigger is little say ....

Revisited 15 days later with another member of the TWD, alias Bapt, to confirm my impression ....
To see the head of my comrade and his comment just 5 minutes after the first sight of the planet and the base:
"No, but you're right, it's made to be construct in Lego .... argllllllllll ...." ..................... with a Big smile at the key!

Yeah, sometimes, the mechanics are set up in a quasi-natural way.
First working meeting for us 2 at the last  Chti LUG event, time for us to welcome our dear treasurer Ixtribe, also victim of the syndrome "No but Scarif, must be done in Lego" kind knife between the teeth.

Here is the genesis, good summed up in my way, I know :)

Moving on to the project:

The Deadline is set for the Dole Expo ( France ) on October 22 and 23.
The goal is simple: to have fun by reproducing the imperial base and the tower of course.
The zones are set for each and what will also be found there.

I therefore present the very beginning of the dio in the direction of visit: the Imperial Shuttle Zeta and her platform.
From there will go the species of Metro that joins the tower, this one will be motorized.

The tower is expected to exceed or almost 2 meters. Finally 2 other beach areas of the same kind as in the film will go in 2 other directions.
In short, this project will keep us in suspense for several months but as this area is over, I do not resist the urge to submit it to your expert opinions.
Finally 2 little things:
- this area is deliberately less planted, to facilitate the view of the visitors on the stage, which will also be garnished for exhibitions, because it is rather quiet
- the shuttle should have been 1/3 taller in a minifig scale model, but in order not to end up with a shuttle too massive compared to the tower, I therefore preferred to reduce by one third the dimensions.

Finally, 3 leds 5mm illuminate the cockpit and the bay, this one including the trap by which the rebels disperse in discretion ....
Photo place:

The overview: 4x5 baseplates or 20 in total

That looks really nice.

The shuttle is enormous and detailed.

The surrounding area is very colorful and detailed. Great build!

Aah, that looks nice! I assume the wings of the shuttle do not fold down? Too bad, but its interior is nice :)

Welcome to Eurobricks!

You have done an awesome job of Scarif here!

The shuttle is fantastic the interior looks really accurate. The surroundings are a great addition too; the progressive colouring up to the middle is nice.

Good luck with finishing your build on time, I'm sure you will reach it!

Kind regards, Ellis.

Hi everybody

Thank you for your great returns
I took a lot of fun to build it and I take even more to see it please .... :)

It made its first exit yesterday on the occasion of the arrival of a TV Channel to our  monthly party of our RLUG, history to take advantage to test the transport system
For the greenery / beaches, it's perfect but I still have to refine for the shuttle, it lost 3 wings in 30 kilometers  so I tell you not if it makes several hundred for an event...

Next step: work meeting tomorrow with my 2 companions to validate a lot of small details and attack the continuation

Thank you for your replies, I would post as the progress of the project which should know a slight stand-by for me because of the organization of event / moving / marriage ......

maybe transporting only works with partially disassembled models (like having the wings removed in a controlled way to put them flat into a box)

Hello friends

Well, it's time for me to relaunch this subject since we have, my partners and myself, well advanced.

After receipt of orders and several working meetings, the global plan is activated with some modifications ...
Phase 1 is well advanced, namely the construction of beaches.
Some pictures:

Beach 1 ( my part )

Since taking these photos, the tramway has been revised, less wide and lighter to "preserve" the engine, the lights have been integrated, in short well ahead in that direction.

Nevertheless there are still several actions to be carried out on this one:
- a dozen plates to do again to reach the edge of the pit / falls water(surprise ... !!!)
- putting into action the minifigs and up the shuttle for the next pictures
- greening even more because for now, each baseplate has received a basic endowment, but the remains and surplus will serve to garnish the jungle

Beach  2 ( Mr Ixtribe aka David )

After a holiday, the assembly goes on. In the end a CB-TT will be visible on this part, the junction is created with the beach n ° 1 (I am whispered to the ear that he has launched In the production of palm trees ^^)

Beach 3 ( Bapt aka Baptiste )

There, too, has advanced since these photos. It will be the most "warrior" beach.
I allow myself to do a little teasing and would not tell you more for the moment.

What remains to be done:

- the construction of the tower began with a nocturnal session (20h - 4h in the morning) which allowed to make a first pan, to calculate the dimensions, to draw up a rather precise plan, and to make the decisions when the visibility of the Interior for the visitor.
- the pit will soon be realized
- the bridge is also a next step.

...... good you will have understood, we still have bread on the board but the accelerator is put and we still have 2 good months to be ready for Dole Brickevent in October.

Good weekend

Thank you for your comments, motivated to continue.
For the foliage, to tell the truth, I'm not satisfied yet, but as soon as the beach plates are all made, I would not fail to add, especially in height, to give a little volume to the palm trees .

Hello everybody,
now 3 weeks from its first official release on the occasion of the expo in Dole ( France ), it's time to tease a little bit with some pictures of the progress of the project.
And as my friend Baptiste says, we don't back down .....
...... but there is still work for sure!

the back of the tower by friend Baptiste.

unfortunately not. It would have been necessary to integrate it in the second floor which would have weakened to the extreme.
In its current situation it is stable.
I would soon post first-floor views that correspond more to the arrival of the heroes in the tower
everything is about compromise in this kind of project .... :)

This project is mind-bending - simply awesome!! I love the all the detail work put into this - scenery, buildings, spaceships and everything! I wish your expo was in the United States so I could come see this behemoth, but France is way out of my travel reach.  Good luck and I can't wait for more pictures!

Please!  Do take pictures at your event when this is completed.  Looking fantastic as it's in progress, can hardly wait for a finalized version.
