This is actually an inspired idea. Honestly it could just be really simple. A standard red 2x4 brick suit that just slips over the minifigure. If they wanted to add more they could include a blue suit as an alternative for the figure to wear.

Also I am still on board with Cake Suit Guy. However it is done, I'm sure it will look great.

Count me in!  I'd buy a lot of black and dark grey Brick Suits!  That way, I can make it look like people are embedded in my castle walls!

About the Brick Suit Minifigure:

So @Robert8 and @Loki221978 posted on the S17 thread some pics of concepts of several suited minifigs. It's relevant because the Rocket Suit Boy and Penguin Suit are featured and the design is almost identical to what we got, and the picture was posted in mid 2016. So, I went to that user's (Lemonution) Flickr, and guess what else I found...

It won't, because people (e.g. me) would connect the figures in inappropriate ways. Lots of inappropriate ways.

Well, these look great. My faves from that group-shot: Toucan, Eagle, Pelican, Ice Cream and Flower.

But also, when i see all these animals i have to think of Fabuland.

Those are great illustrations. I really want the most common domestic animals to have costumes  -- Cat and Dog suits!

YOU ALL DOUBTED BRICK SUIT GUY. You will see. He will make his glorious appearance and it will be grand!

On a serious note, I do rather like that concept art. If it was an actual usable brick as well I could see some interesting concepts come from that.

 

Edit: Oh wow. The rest of those are amazing and it is interesting how almost exact Rocketman is to the current one. I'd welcome any of those ecpesially Ice Cream Man.

Definitely.  I'll be seriously upset if it actually comes out but isn't compatible.
