OOC: (added to inventory from marketplace.) 3x grand tonic, 3x potion, Telescope, Gold now at 229.

-----

Siercon hurried to the docks... but when he gets there he notes that he's the first to arrive. 'Probably didn't need to rush quite that much...' he thought.

"Captain, nice to meet you. I am Siercon, and have been gratefully anticipating working with the bonapartes."

Looking towards the others, he notes that he haven't ever ventured with... any of them...?

"Greetings, I greatly look forward to fighting along side all of you. Let me know how I can beat be of assistance."

He chose the broad greeting and figured he would make more of an individual conversational effort as they appeared.

OOC: Stats look good, with the exception that I seem to have forgotten to add my Grogmas gift to my inventory: Scroll of the Dragon's Roar (Causes Stunned and Burning-5 to the target 50/50 chance of success, costs 2 ether) Other than that, thanks for having me on board! It feels like it's been an eternity since I've been on one of your quests. :sweet:

Annienal lugs herself to the docks, looking tired and groggy. It had felt like forever since she had put her armour on last, it's weight bearing down on her. She had forgotten how heavy it could feel, but reminded herself that at least she was accustomed to this. She remembered the first time she put a full suit of armour on and nearly toppled over.. She noticed the strange hooded man on the docks along with Captain Lane, both of whom she promptly greeted.

"Um... you said your name was Captain Lane? My name is Annienal Anavir. It's a, um, pleasure to make your acquaintances, the both of you." Annienal looked around the dock before something caught her eye. A glint of ore reflecting off the sun light. The hooded man seemed to have something on his person. Something shiny.

"Um... excuse me, sir? Hi, um, I was wondering if you were willing to part with that Mythril Shard of yours."

Siercon turned to look at Annienal as she spoke. "Ah hi, and yes" he pulled out his mithril shard. "You know, it was just yesterday I had three of these... guess My priorities shifted... how about for two gems? Aquamarine and Amythist?"

OOC: gems are like 100 each right? Or is my estimation way off?

OOC: Pretty sure in-game market value tends to go for about 100 gold per gemstone.

Annienal squints her eyes and thinks about the offer. She pulls out the Aquamarine and 100 gold. "Will, um, this suffice?"

OoC: Forgot to add the Sungold Medallion, sorry. And is it too late to buy a cornucopia?

Heckz arrives at the scene and he does not try to hide the look of annoyance on his face. He speaks to the Captain.

"So, Mister Captain, Is there a particular reason that this Aldieor is the party leader instead of me?"

He quickly eyes his other party members, thinking he could freeze them all on the spot with a quick snap of his fingers, then remembering that he can't do that anymore.

At least the fun of harlotry and other diseases awaits him in the future, he assumes.

As did I. Oops!

Althior walks to the docks, slowly, his aura in tow for the first time in months. Both remain relatively quiet before being greeted by the other heroes. Althior wasn't overly fond of working with the Bonapartes, but at this point he deemed it necessary should he desire to move up in the ranks of the alliance. He eyes over the "heroes", most of them seeming new. He gives a slight nod to Darksten, before holding out his Medal of Glory, Doom Axe, and Bone Saw"If they're to your liking, take 'em. They're more of use to you than they are to me," he looks to his employer. "Seems like we're all here, are we not? The aura's coming with me," he says, ignoring Heckz.

"He said I had to... this time," he decrees, to no response from the Prophet.

"I need the medal. The gold matches my hair."

Thinking the man with the aura is Darksten, he puts on a smug look.

"Well clearly this "Aldieor" is running late. Poor choice for a party leader, if you ask me."

He then turns to the party.

"For your information, I'm Heckz Brutenhal, The Ghostbuster, The Super-Sleuth, The School Inspector and the Matchmaker. Now, since our party leader isn't here, I say we go with the popular vote and make me into one as I've got experience being a very important person in the Sungold Alliance. If you've got any questions please direct them to my Sungold Secretary per Z-Mail."

Althior crosses his arms, and leans against a stack of nearby crates. "Oh I agree! Who wouldn't want to be led by a man who clearly whores himself out left and right," he stands upright. "am this 'Aldieor' you speak of, so watch your tongue,"

Darksten briskly joins the group after his quick stop at the market. As he joins the gathered heroes he catches the words from the Bonaparte Captain.

"It is good to see you again as well, I hope those slavers were given due justice..."

Since the Captain already introduced the assassin to the party, Darksten simply nods to the group, happy that he recognizes at least one face.

Seeing the offered items being passed around, the assassin shakes his head.

"Thanks, but as long as luck is on my side I prefer to keep my distance in a fight."

ooc: A number of updates, with additional health (48), more power (3), as well as less defense (2) and gold (1637). I also purchased a magic compass from the market, added my Grogmas gift and cornucopia I bought ahead of time because I thought ahead. ;) As a result of the new equipment I am no longer immune to being afraid.

"Good to meet you, Siercon. Sure the Bonapartes are looking forward to working with you too." Captain Lane grins. "Think the higher ups are trying to sure up the ranks. Just this morning I ferried over a member of the Town Watch as well as some Were-Lion Warrior Priest."

"You act like I had a say in the matter. Whatever old Blackgull decides is his business. He must have a reason though. Maybe it's a nod to the Zeigfrieds, putting a magic user in charge, or maybe he's hoping to court the Paladins... couldn't rightly say. All I know is that he's try to sure up the ranks."

"They got the swift hand of justice, that's certain. More than a fair chance we'll be sailing over their remains today." Lane casts his eyes out over the choppy waves. "Well, that's everyone, isn't it? Best be off."

Lane leads the heroes through riff raft down to a pier with a small boat tethered to the end. He begins to walk towards it when a harsh voice calls out to him.

"Hear Blackgull expects us to serve on his ships?" The crowd growls at the suggestion. "Fat lot of good your doing us! Taking us away from our friends and family. Course the Hinckwells wanted to give us houses. And the Union is sending us all to school free of charge. But the Bonapartes... always the Bonapartes. You ever even heard of freedom?"

"The Union isn't sending you to school," fires back Lane. A stray bottle soars through the air and smashes on his forehead and the good Captain stumbles backwards and falls into the surf. The dockworkers advance on the heroes! Prepare for battle!

"Son of a... this is what happens when you 'discipline' people," He hurls an ethereal darkness spell at Mob A from the back row before retrieving Lane.

Does Lane get an action this round/in general?

Annienal wasn't sure what to make of the two men currently bickering. Aldieor seemed far too stubborn to get a conversation out of, and Heckz... rubbed her the wrong way.  Perhaps it was the way he dressed, or perhaps it was his vanity. Needless to say, Annienal made deliberate attempts to avoid eye contact with him.

She felt oddly naked in front of this new group of strangers. No Vind. No Warlen. She had seen Miderun or Bobby in ages. She heaved her breath, a visible plume of smoke rising from her mouth.

As the strongest connection he had to the Bonaparte clan is thrown into the water, Darksten notches his bow.

"Hey you ungrateful lot..." Is all the assassin has time to shout before his arrow is sailing through the air...

Watching his compatriots out of the corner of his eye, he is happy to see the team lead dive into the water after the captain.

The knight started to worry him however, as she just stood there looking confused. Worse yet, she seemed to just be retreating behind some magic instead of aggressively going after the enemy!

Siercon attacks mob C from the back row with a lightning spell. Spear held in case of shield. (Darkness damage added only for physical attacks[ie shield])

OOC: I am one of the few remaining heroes currently and purposely unaffiliated and as such do not have a medallion :P. However I do have the immortal essence that gives me power +1 for # of enemy.

"Sigh, right off the bat, and a mob of sea salty drunkards at that..." Siercon said.

if Siercon takes any damage, he siphons the potion out of his hollow spear.

Heckz' smug look dissapears from his face.

"Not sure if I'll watch it that well. As you said, I whore myself left and right. For your information, I don't sell my body. People are just so desperate to have a piece of me they bribe me into doing so. My actual profession is... sometthing at the Hinckwell Villa."

He is clearly annoyed when he sees the mob of angry dockmen approaching them.

"Great... more poor people."

He consumes a Smelling Salts and then proceeds to strike the Mob A from the back row.

"That... doesn't really answer my question, but I'm going to take an educated guess and assume the Alliance is forcing the poor to work for the Bonapartes? That doesn't sound incredibly intelligent, if you want my opinion." Annienal responds, looking over her scroll. She notes the man who was speaking to her seemed to be in disdain towards her. She looked through her scroll at a quicker pace, hoping to get his gaze off of her.

The young elf's 'educated guess' did nothing but provoke the harlot's sense of superiority. He could not resist intervening, even in the midst of battle.

"Which high-society group did you say you were a part of, boo?"

He says in a "caring" voice and, without waiting for Annienal to answer, immediately breaks the falseness.

"No one, right? So your opinion is totally worthless, which means you can go ahead and throw it into the water, just like I'll do with you if you keep questioning my source of influence."

OoC: Sorry K-Nut, didn't see you were hastened and attacked Mob A.

>Althior retrieves Lane
>Heckz takes a Smelling Salts
>Heckz v. Mob A - Satisfy (Each member of mob down to lvl 7)
>Siercon v. Mob C - Hit (17+4+25=46 Damage, -1 ether)
>Darksten v. Mob D - Critical Hit (No Assassination, [11*2]+3+25=50 Damage)
>Annienal uses Scroll of Water Warding - Failure (-1 ether)

Mob A Knocks Off Heroes: Althior (1/6 Chance: Failure), Heckz (1/6 Chance: Success), Siercon (1/6 Chance: Success), Darksten (1/6 Chance: Success), Annienal (1/6 Chance: Failure)
Mob B Knocks Off Heroes: Alithor (1/6 Chance: Failure), Annienal (1/6 Chance: Failure)

The heroes are each able to land a powerful blow and drive back the mob, and Althior goes for a little dip and gets an unconscious Lane back on the pier. Unfortunately, the mob seems to be absurdly precise in their bottle lobbing, and glass smashes into Heckz, Darksten and Siercon, sending all three into the water.

Darksten starts to respond to the knight, but bites his tongue when the other guy lays into her.

Plus, since he was actually fighting (unlike her), he needed to concentrate. A moral debate could wait until the waves settled....

But then more waves are caused as a bottle smashes into the distracted assassin and causes him to tumble off the pier.

ooc: it might be obvious, but I just want to say I am always open to suggestions to change my battle stances going forward.
