BlueRender rendering translucent pieces too dark.

Recommended Posts

I use BlueRender 0003 (later versions add a horrible grain effect to metallic pieces, so I've foregone them) and I am getting pretty sick and tired of how awfully it handles translucent colours. It makes them dark and fairly indiscernible.

This internet consipirator-esque infographic shows what I mean. What can I alter in the scene file to rectify this?

It's easier to fix the metallic issue in later versions than it is to fix this transparency. The latest versions have a number of samples associated with each individual metallic color in the scene file, but by default it's kind of low. Just raise the samples to your liking, and enjoy the good transparency.

Ok, this is the Scene.sc file from a fresh install of Bluerender0005 (No bublible mods) opened in notepad. You just have to locate the shaders for the metallic colors (You can find them by their name, or the mat# from ldd) and raise the samples.
