7351c00 - Motor Pull Back Type 6 7 x 5 x 3

motor6.jpg_thumb.jpg

Motor 6 picture borrowed from Peeron.

motor6.png

I tried to make this piece as accurately as possible. An axle can fit all the way through the white holes. The entire part is in a group for convenience of moving and/or recoloring.

LXF File

Not listed on Peeron, but only on BrickLink and mentioned by LEGO in an old FAQ: Motor 6a.

The FAQ from LEGO states:

Q: I have a Nitro Burner (8471) but the pull-back motor has a different shape than shown in the building instruction. What should I do?

A: Simply keep building! The new shape of the motor does not affect your Racer. As you can see on page 25 or 43, you can add black TECHNIC beams to either side of the motor and these can be used to build up the Racer.

Original FAQ page on the Internet Wayback Machine

The main difference of this motor is that the bottom beam is one stud longer than the previous one.

64867px1 - Wedge 4 x 4 Fractured Polygon Top with DkStone Pattern

151221910618_1.jpg

Can't Do my own, as this is a deco of a small brick that can't be built.

However, here is an image from Brickset:

4542986.jpg

Not really anything done by me, but it frustrates me that this part, which is very similar to part 64867-Wedge 4 x 4 Fractured Polygon Top, but only in a single color! Is it possible to allow this to be recloured (even though it only comes in that colour, and in one set, Power Miners: Crystal King)

I've got some of the new parts from 42056:

#23801 Wheel Hub with Axle Holes:

6145859.jpg

My version:

42056_wheel_hubs.jpg

Actually, there are two. Both versions have pros and cons:

The version on the left is connected to the wishbones, but this relies on a bug, and can not steer.

The version on the right can steer, but is not connected to anything.

Neither version has the indentations on the inside like the real piece, which could limit steering angle.

Next up is the 3x7 panel, part #24119

6150082.jpg

My version:

panel3x7.jpg

Geometry is not exact, but all connections are useable. Part is not connected together.

I have got to say, LDD having the 1x1 liftarm is very useful for making custom parts.

Also, hot tip for making these parts more useable in creations and renders: Download the files, and then create a group our of all the pieces in the custom part. Then, make a template from that selection. If you do it like that, every time you use the template tool to insert the part into a model, LDD will automatically make that part a group, which means that you can use the group tool to select the part, and move it as if it were a regular part, without having to fuss with the multiple selection tool. This is particularly useful when using custom parts that are not connected.

I don't know if there's a better topic for this, but I have made a lot of custom pieces in LDD for primarily Technic and Juniors. I had a lot more, but they were made obsolete by the March update... anyway, since I have these custom pneumatics, I figured I'd share them.

I just tried that. Didn't work-- Eurobricks froze up upon entering the URL, I had to close IE and reopen it to get rid of the popup box. That's what happened when I tried to upload a small Superheroes set back when I registered--I couldn't get past "attach picture". Perhaps I could try it on Google Chrome on my phone... wait... maybe I can upload the files to Bricksafe and then post on my phone! Yes! I think I can upload official sets!

EDIT: Nope. Can't attach pictures on mobile. Back to the drawing board--by which I mean, downloading Chrome on my computer...

You could switch to the classic editor and add the tags manually. The URL of the image have to be embraced with IMG tags.

[img=http://url_of_my_image]

In this topic, the best practice is to provide two images (possibly same size) for each brick: on the left an image of the original brick and on the right the screenshot of the custom brick (or more than one if more versions are available).

For each single custom brick, place the images under the Design ID and the description of the brick.

Take a look at my post as example.

PS: Internet Explorer is obsolete. You could switch to something other that is up to date (my personal preference: firefox).

Please read again my answer above, I edited the post adding new informations.

Yes the image is too large, the maximum size allowed in EuroBricks is 1024x768 (but it is recommended to use this size only if strictly necessary).

Changed the picture to a smaller one, Bricksafe makes it very easy. So, wait, do I have to put a small picture of the part below each Brickset link? Or could I just put all of them into one photo and put that in above the LDD screengrab? Or just keep the links...? Because I was planning on uploading official sets this way, and this was really a test drive for doing that. Seems to me that I'm all set to go that way...

So, wait, do I have to put a small picture of the part below each Brickset link?

Unfortunately this topic have not an indexer/moderator, so there are not strict rules and irregular entries.

In any case if you want to make a good and easily browsable post, follow my suggestions is not a bad idea.

About posting in the LDD Official sets topic, note that the topic have strict rules (please read them carefully before posting, you can find that in the first page of the topic), so post there is another kettle of fish.

If you have any doubt about how to post, you can contact me in private and make a "test" entry there, so that I can help and correct you until the post is regular. :classic:

Even if it were, it wouldn’t be appropriate to talk about it here:

  • Modify or hack LDD software (including adding homemade bricks or decorations)
We don't encourage or provide support for this, as this kind of things violates LDD EULA. So please don't ask how to hack or modify LDD software and don't open new topics about that.
Anyway you can discuss that subject or ask for new features for LDD in the proper topics listed in the Section Index thread.

Oh, that's a shame.

Today I was trying to build a model in LDD, and like most of you have found out already, there is no pull back motor part available in LDD.

So I tried to search for some custom design of it, but I only found 2 variations and I wasn't quite happy with the design so I decided to make my own...

I'm pretty happy with my own implementation and present it here, for you all to use if you like (if you have suggestions to make it better, please share):

Does anybody have any the old baseplates pre-made? Such as the one from 6098 King's Castle and so on. I used to have a couple that I made myself, but lost them when I reinstalled Windows and really don't feel like making them again lol.

EDIT: Ah, don't worry I'm making them myself. The ones available here, while they look okay, they are solid (as in there are tons of bricks inside the baseplates), whereas I've just made the 32 x 48 x 6 with 4 Corner Pits and it's 200 bricks less than a much smaller 32 x 32 baseplate I downloaded from this topic.

No offense meant to the original creator. At least someone did it lol.

@Kevin Flemming

As general rule, look for the sets that uses the part you need and check the "Official Sets made in LDD" topic.
If some other builder has made a set containing the part, probably he/she have created a custom replacement too.
