He is also holding a shark repellent and I wonder what is it for

A nod to this legendary scene, perhaps?

Awesome review, interesting figs. I've gotta admit that some of them are pretty cool, but what caught my interest is the Eraser. I wonder if his head piece would make for a good IG-88.

I think it is destined for some reuse. But probably not IG-88 his head did taper. People always seem to miss that the original IG-88 prop was largely made from recycled and re-used props. His head was originally the strange Capachino Maker type device behind the bar in the Mos Eisley Cantina.

That Eraser head will make for some great MOC'ing I think. Every time I look at him I keep seeing Helper from The Venture Brothers.

Great Review @WhiteFang. The minifigures are spectacular. The Batman variants are all good. Only thing I would change out is Prison Joker for another villain that was on the extended trailer. Like Condiment King or Gentleman Ghost. Red Hood is my favorite so far as well as Pink Power Batgirl.

@WhiteFang

I have a little request

Could you please take a pic of the duck float on a minifigure with short legs?

I'd like to see if it works fine on a little boy/girl

Another great review. Thank you.

There are quite some nice accessoires. Hopefully they will come without the batman logo some time in the near future.

But as you said as a whole this series looks very good but there are relatively a lot of average minifigures. Maybe it is just too many batmans.

That silhouette wears a tricorn. Tricorns are a pirate thing.

The series is scheduled for may 2017.

Hmmmm, I wonder if there could be a certain Big franchise Pirate Movie coming out in may... on the 26th perhaps?

Great review as always WF, we can see the effort and numerous possibilities of scenarios, but honestly I have to say not a big super hero fan here, and I doubt would buy any fig of this series :/ . Anyway I am happy for the DC fans which will be getting lot of figs.  :)

The parts assortment are average. Apart from the common fish, we are able to see the crab in pearl silver colouring. At one look, I thought he is someone who venture in the sea and I wonder what are those props for on how to aid his crime planning. You can see more of the details from the back view and side view.

I assume the accessories for Zodiac are meant to represent the zodiacal signs of Pisces  (fish) and Cancer (crab).

Thanks!

It looks a bit oversized for the girl/boy minifigure

Well, those parts are certainly very specialised. I could imagine it is going to be challenging to use it in medieval era for your warring minifigures.

I think your assumption is very correct and is likely that these accessories are for the Zodiac signs.

To some extent, yes, but I do find them pretty adorable wearing with their short legs.

This is the first time that I encountered such an in-depth CMF review here at EB, and I definitely don't mind spending 30 minutes mulling over it. :) I don't intend to collect all the minifigs under any particular CMF series, except for those that really appeal to me such as Stitch, Banana Guy, Vacation Batman and Red Hood among others. But seeing how you thoughtfully review and present all these minifigures sparks a certain curiosity in me. Love the comedic effect that you put on them, especially the Battle of the Monsters. :D Reading your other reviews right now. Keep it up!

Thanks albertbalanza, and welcome to Eurobricks! I have always fond of doing the LEGO CMFs over in Eurobricks since Series 1 and my reviewing techniques evolved over the years and it has been a long standing tradition since 2010. Hope you enjoyed reading the rest of the past reviewing coverage. Have fun and enjoy your stay with us.

Great pre and review.

But I really need to ask: Catman's legs are coloured the other way around on the figure compared to the leaflet. What do we think? Will all of them be the same of will there be any with the correct colouring as per the leaflet? :)

Hey WhiteFang. I did the unthinkable and bought a box of LEGO Batman movie CMF due to the fact that within 1 hour of its release all the Batman variants were gone. Fortunately I have to share 2 sets with a friend so it's not that bad. It's just alarming that because of the 54% price hike (where I usually buy in the region), a box of 60 already costs about the price of a UCS and much more expensive than any modular except the latest one. I have never bought a box so small and yet that expensive. It just horrified me as I drive home. I hope this pricing is only a one-off exercise for a "limited release" licensed CMF series.

Where I buy, the top 3 unpopular ones seems to the the Zodiac Master, Mime and Commissioner Gordon. March Harriet, Orca and Vacation Batman seems to be the favourites though it seems all Batman variants are popular.

All of my three Catman's leg are the same as the image. I suspect the leaflet is a printing error and I don't think it is the correct one. Did anyone get another variant of the legs based on the leaflet? Thanks for pointing it out.

Indeed, you have took a brave step ahead. I am glad you managed to find someone to share with you together to make the cost a little more manageable without the hassle to go into the store to locate the ones you want. I fully understand what you meant, like a box of 60 minifigures is actually more expensive than the LEGO Modular, Assembly Square. It's very unimaginable but it is true for this series. I sincerely hope this pricing is just for the LEGO Batman Movie license.

I also heard that March Harriet and Vacation Batman (at this moment) seem to be the hardest to find.

Thank you very much for the great review, WhiteFang! :classic:

Supposably this series is done very well, but

1. I dislike licensed CMF series - esp. when the minifigs are skin-colored because consequently you can't use them for City, Castle, ...

2. So it's now confirmed that TLG raised the price of the CMFs from 3 to 4 Euros by one step. But although it and its accessory are limited - four Euros is much too much! I'm curious to see how they'll sell. And for sure this price will be the one for all future series - even the non-licensed -, am I right?

Nevertheless the "swim duck" and the lobster with the printed white dish are excellent accessory which I'll try to get some of.

I just had to find my account details from somewhere so I can log in for a moment to say thank You WhiteFang for the awesome review.

At the moment the prices in Finland are 3,25-3,90eur/bag. The catalog has them listed for 3,95eur/bag.

Luckily I still have a resource for my private use so I get them at 2,95eur/bag, but, a full euro more to the price compared to previous series is a bit harsh as I always tend to get 3 boxes.

In Denmark, single bags is sold at full prize 4 EUR, but most places sell them with discount at appx. 3,3 EUR, whoch is the normal full prize for single bags in other series..
