The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

Just picked up Riddler racer, penguin attic roller, cat woman chase, and phantom zone polybag at target in kansas. Also had the killer croc and clay face set but I'm going to wait until tomorrow so I can use a gift card on them. No cmf though.

I just spent an hour at target, between feeling for the figures I wanted and waiting in the huge Christmas lines. Only to get to the cashier and be told the mini figures were put out by mistake and they could not be purchased. Manager reiterated the same thing.

Just a heads up for people. Check to see if you can buy before wasting time feeling them.

How much is the Arctic roller?

So, I found/bought the Killer croc set today at Target, and a whole display of the CMF's, and lastly the Phantom zone polybag. I was able to get a complete set, plus a few doubles, after feeling the bags for awhile.

There is a VERY SIMPLE trick, for those of you who want to buy the sets at Target, but instead have a manager, or cashier, tell you that you cant, yet. GO TO THE SELF CHECKOUT LINE!!!!!! That's what I did, and it was fine. In fact, when I got into the toy aisle, the ONLY thing on the shelves was the Phantom zone polybag. However, there were a bunch of pallets with all sorts of unopened cases of toys, not just Lego. I "searched" the pallets and saw 2 cases of Lego boxes that had a "Do not display till Jan 1st" sticker, in white and red, on it. I knew these had to be what I wanted. I took one of my keys and opened those cases right up. One case had 3 sets of the Killer Croc set, of which I took 1. The other case was a whole cardboard display of the mini-figures. I pulled that bad boy right outta the case, and started feeling away at the bags, until I made a full set. Mind you, while I was doing this, workers were walking around me, saying Hi, and could care less. Then, I had NO ISSUE buying them, because I went to the "self checkout" line.

Good luck, it worked for me.

I opened all my figures, and they are all awesome. I am going to put the Croc set together now. When I am done, I will let you guys know what I think of it.

Wish I could go to Target, but I'm leaving on Thursday so I won't be able to get anything early. Hopefully the sets I want and the CMF's are still in stock on January 8th.

Anyone know the DCPI's for the minifigs?

From what I have heard, 204-00-1379 is the dcpi for the cmf series. Unfortunately it is the same one for all cmf series so unless you see a large increase in the stock of them, it's hard to determine if a certain target has them.

They kept saying hi because they wanted you to stop messing around with the palettes but can't yell at you because "customer service". I mean seriously, these things are going to be everywhere for the next year, why on earth would you think that's okay?

I have to agree with you here. Why couldn't you just wait two more weeks instead of opening boxes that clearly were not supposed to be opened until January 1st? That's pretty rude to Target and Lego.

First of all you have NO IDEA what you are talking about. The cases were on a pallet of items that were ON THE FLOOR BEING OPENED. In fact, one of the workers jokingly thanked me for opening it for him. He said, we have so many boxes to open today, you just made my job easier. The dates on the box were a non issue for them. These boxes were NOT in the back, they were out in the aisles being opened to be put on shelves. I technically opened them for them. Secondly, literally dozens of people here on this forum, have been talking about getting these sets early, and at guess where? Target. It is quite obvious that Target IS putting these on the shelves EARLY.

I DID NOT take these out of a back room. I did not hide anything. I mentioned about the "date" on the box, because that's how I knew which box had the items THEY WERE GOING TO PUT ON THE SHELVES. It allowed me to NOT have to wait for them to do it. The workers had NO PROBLEM with it, you were NOT there, I was.

Lastly, the comment about the workers saying HI to me, was about the fact that I was "fondling" the bags, which everyone does, for about an hour in the aisle, and they were cool with it. It had NOTHING to do with the fact that it was put out by me, THEY WERE PUTTING IT OUT.

Why do you think this stuff was sitting in an aisle of the store, in the toy section, with many other items? For them to "tempt us", and then yell when we touch it. NOPE they were stocking their shelves with it. Like I said, it was on pallets with MANY OTHER ITEMS, that were NOT EVEN LEGO. EVERYTHING WAS BEING PUT OUT.

Read my above comment, it explains it all. Whats RUDE, is to assume someone is doing something, that they were not. Its clear you built up a whole, horrible, evil, scenario in your HEAD, but the reality, and truth were quite different.

I did not "rudely shake the very foundations of the Target and Lego franchises today", nearly, almost tearing the very fabric of the earth. I opened a case, about 5 minutes before the TARGET EMPLOYEES DID.

*long post about unsealing street dated product and whimpy Target employees*

So...

You not only breached either a cart or pallet of unopened, and lest we forget, street-dated product, so that you can say you own it, but you also went through self-checkout in order to override a process that is deliberately put into place so that you can't leave with that product until the street date is met?

Look, I know some people have managed to get the sets before the launch date, but what you did is indecent to the point that it's not only a reason for Lego to sue Target, but to get you involved as well (reminder that they have your information through your transaction).

Do you have a conscience knowing that whatever stock worker was handling that product may be on the brink of losing their job all because you don't even have a speck of patience? If any of those employees were me, I would have had a supervisor be brought over, and had you escorted out of the store.

And you think you're super smart don't you?

THEY COME OUT IN 11 DAYS. PRACTICE SOME FLIPPIN' PATIENCE!!!

EDIT:

You said something about why they were in the aisles in the first place...

What if they just received it, were side-tracked to get it into their stockroom, and now they're short stocked because you lack the patience of a Kindergartener.

As someone who has worked in retail, and someone who has handled embargoed product, I think I speak for everyone with that sort of experience when I say that you should be ashamed of yourself.

Eventhough I agree that opening inventory boxes without permission at a store is reprehensible and loserish.... I think you guys are ripping the OP a little too much. If the Target employees were truly upset by his actions, someone be it a manager, loss prevention, security etc... would have come over and asked him to leave.

I'm not sure if Target has overhead shelving for leftover stock that won't fit on the shelves at present, but it could be possibly headed there to avoid "losing" it in the stockroom.

As far as opening sealed boxes, I generally ask staff first, and would never pick from a pallet of fresh stock. I am only the customer, and no, we are not always right, despite the saying.

Toys r us in my area has already filled their shelves with every set of the first wave, although I'm not sure if they raise prices there as a lot of people say they do.

Just saw J2G's review on the new Joker polybag, and I think it looks really neat! It's an easy way to get this version of The Joker if you're not prepared to buy the Balloon Escape/Scuttler set, it has that cool 6 shooter piece I always like getting and I think the Batman dummy thing is awesome - the loose pieces to knock off is a great idea. Also, a spare Batman cowl, that might come in handy.
