Well, I would be more concerned as to what your son likes. If he considers those sets to be for girls, then I wouldn't get one for him. If he doesn't mind, then I would say do as you feel you should.

Mostly the minidolls can be "girly" because of their thinness and facial features, but again, it's all subjective. I'm just trying to anticipate what some kids would feel.

I personally love this set ( I think it looks and works great )

- I agree with Brickhat ( Mostly the minidolls can be "girly"  )

Friends is a line that attracts more girls than boys

- but what Tragic Banjo says  ( They are for whoever wants them ) is what matters the most

Goodluck with your decision

Greetings

It is definitely not just for girls. If your son likes the colors and the amusement park theme, then go for it. Some folks (girls and boys) dislike the bright colors of the Friends line. I don't think the figures themselves should cause any concern - your son can always use minifigures in the set if he doesn't like the minidolls.

I actually consider the new amusement park theme as a great gender-neutral theme, possibly the first for the Friends line. Though it is obviously marketing to girls with the package design and minidolls, the theme itself is all about fun and the excitement of the carnival rides.

I reccomend against it because his friends will make fun of him because it is 'girly' and also because the minidolls are gender stereotypical. I strongly disagree with friends in general and am dissappointed with lego for even creating the theme

I think that not doing things with your kids because "his friends will make fun of him" is one of the things that keeps things broken in society. If kids make fun of other kids for whatever reason, there's nothing wrong with your kid, but with them.

I agree, it is society that is broken but i do not want his child to be made fun of.
