[moc] VW T3 "Westfalia"

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow City friends,

I've just finished a Volkswagen T3 camping edition "Westfalia", "Caravelle CL" and a standard.

The scale used is 1/42 and regarded by myself as minifig/city scale, for it uses 1,70m for a minifig being 5 vertical studs high (including head pin).

It frankly wont fit any minifigs properly, since its 5,6 studs wide (1,80m) and i needed a lot of interiour structure for the roof and windows to stay in place

In some renders i used non-transparts windows to give better contrast (bluerender aint good with trans! :hmpf_bad: ).

Critique and feedback always welcome, feel free to enjoy the pics

Cheers, Ron.

NICE! it's tough to pull off things at this scale but it works. I'm currently working on a westy evolution of my earlier model team scale vanagon (http://www.eurobrick...opic=131280&hl=) but i love vanagons of all sizes :)

Thanks man! It really aint easy working in 1/42, but i do enjoy the puzzeling of small pieces haha^^

That LeMons Van of yours is amazing - if you ever want to see this in your decals, just ask ;)

Definately the T3 Vanagon is one of the coolest ever - whatever the scale :D

cheers

Perfectly adapted version of the iconic model. Perfect proportions, angles and slopes perfectly transferred. Glazing on the red version looks good.

One question, and what is your growth minifigures? Very fine size to get your cool minivan.

Because we have all the time here it is impossible.

Hey nemo, many thanks for stopping by and leaving your positive input! :sweet:

The scale is 1/42 , so the minifig is 170 cm high (5 studs)

You know, that Ford Truck in the picture really represents what TLG Town scale must look like in real life with "non-small-human-minifigs".
