CBC entry

Recommended Posts

You might think, what is the CBC entry doing in the GoH forum? Well, one good reason. Alfadas is back in action! After a long hiatus, Alfadas is finally back to his old self! Once again he finds himself in a raging battle, somewhere in the South of Mitgardia, a massive battle between his army and the armies of the Orcs, once again. Not really a backstory, just a big battle between orcs and humans.

Alfadas, back to his old self, amidst his warriors.

That's it for now, hope you liked it!

Welcome back, Alfadas! Great minifigure scene, especially with the duel on the bridge. Also noteworthy are those lantern type of.. plants? Really the only thing that I don't like about the terrain (and this build, for that matter) is the water; the straight corner and the obviousness of the opaque blue tiles are not a pleasing sight. Other than that, a solid build! :classic::thumbup:

(btw, what is CBC?)

The minifig posing in the battle looks great, but I second Exetrius in that the river looks a bit off with the squared off corner and the rigidly straight lines of the blue tiles. The rocks and plants make for an interesting little bit of terrain, however.

Thanks! Yes, those lantern kinda things are indeed supposed to be plants. The problem with the river is, I don't have more blue tiles. This really is all. But next week I am going to visit a PAB wall and hopefully get more blue tiles, and some other useful pieces for water. Otherwise, a visit to Bricklink will have to do

Ah, I suspected something like that, don't worry about it then! (I have the same problem, the biggest build with water I did was.. 6x6, I think  )

Colossal Battle Contest, you say? Sounds interesting!

Thanks! Just accept those plants, they'll grow on ya.

Yeah, this year there are only 3 categories, but they are fun! You can still join, easily. Deadline is September 30th. https://www.flickr.com/groups/1989840@N23/discuss/72157671777123756/ There you go. Link to the group.

Looks like I have some tough compition. My build will be up soon enough. I feel your pain with not many blue tiles, you'll find in my build I have a little river but since I have no water tiles I have to use blue plates Xp

Hehe, thanks. I'm sure your build will look awesome! Blue plates might actually look better, because they give some sort of an effect on it. But who cares, it's all for good fun anyway!

Nice one. The main thing that I think could be improved would be for the river to be less square, removing a tile on one edge and adding it on an other would really well with that. Also, some 1 x 1 slopes would work well near the edge of the river.

Your terrain keeps getting better  As the others suggested, stepping the river more gradually to make a curve, rather than corner, would look much more natural. Excellent fig posing for a battle :classic:

Thanks! I'll try better in the next MOC. This is mostly testing different things for my diorama, and the tips for the river definitely help!

Good to see you back Alfadas, and nice battle scene! I like how it shows the two forces just moments before they crash into one another.

Nice battle scene Alfadas, I like the various rock formations scattered throughout  The olive green grass fits wonderfully here as well :classic:
