Lego Customs 0401 Posted August 1, 2016 (edited) Hi everybody! I'm Pieter, I live in Belgium and I am a new member here. As all of you, I' have a serious Lego addiction. My main theme is Star Wars, but I also like Castle and Pirate projects. Today I wanted to share my current large scale project which is a 8 foot long Venator. I started this project almost three years ago in september 2013. At first I wanted to do a replica build of Erik Varzegi's/Iomedes version, but along the way I made a lot of special modifications myself :p This included deleting almost all the studs, to get a nice clean and smooth look. Some people don't like this, because it doesn't look like Lego anymore... I like it, especially now that it's starting to look like a giant studiomodel :) Anyway here are some pictures, hope you like it! You can find more pictures on my Mocpage: http://www.moc-pages.com/home.php/83528 or visit my page on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/legocustoms0401/?ref=aymt_homepage_panel Edited August 1, 2016 by Lego Customs 0401
sahidko Posted August 1, 2016 Another awesome Venator, looks very nice! Great to see some interior as well even though i would prefer something more realistic than bowling alley. But it's your model so i can understand that. :) Anyway great job.
Lego Customs 0401 Posted August 1, 2016 (edited) Yeah, the bowling alley was a snap decision. I included it because I'm a huge fan of the Lego Star Wars games. In the games you'll find some stuff that is a bit weird and since bowling is one of my hobbies, I included it. I also made 10 minikits and there's also a red powerbrick to find ;) Edited August 1, 2016 by Lego Customs 0401
PickleManDan Posted August 1, 2016 (edited) I love the bowling alley, especially with the SNOT build for the floor. Also like the minikit in there as well. This is looking to be a pretty solid build. I cant wait to see the completed model. Edited August 1, 2016 by PickleManDan

brickmasterben11 Posted August 1, 2016 This is AMAZING! I love the bowling alley, and I get the reference! Awesome job!
Lego Customs 0401 Posted August 2, 2016 (edited) Thx all! I can't seem to upload more pics here :( Anyway thx for the nice comments! I'm currently finishing the tophulls and making the parts that will fit into the cutoutsection(s) after that I will start with more LED's. Next year I will try to finish it. I just have to close up the bottom of the ship and place some more hull details and that's it :) Edited August 2, 2016 by Lego Customs 0401
dmaclego Posted August 2, 2016 (edited) I'm Pieter (...) and (...) I' have a serious Lego addiction. Now this looks like a perfect introduction duriing the first meeting of Anonymous Legoholics Club :D . But seriously, your model looks great already. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you - keep up the fine work and avoid crash-landings ;) . My question is: what do you plan to do with such a huge model? I know, for instance, that ISD "Chimaera" model built by my friend Jerac tours the commercial LEGO exhibitions constantly. I also know that my Endor Project will spend most of its life in the boxes (with occasional fan convent visits), until I have a separate room for it. And what do you intend to do? Edited August 2, 2016 by dmaclego
Lego Customs 0401 Posted August 2, 2016 i intend to do some Lego shows with it, so that fans of the project can see it in real life. After that I might sell it. I already had some lucrative offers for it, but I want to finish it first ;)
Nevada101 Posted August 12, 2016 Do you have the overall dimensions? Besides just the length?
Lego Customs 0401 Posted August 13, 2016 (edited) It's 8 foot long, 31.49 inches tall (with stand included) and 49.60 inches wide at the widest point (rear) Edited August 13, 2016 by Lego Customs 0401
KevinYoung Posted August 13, 2016 Can you even move the model with two people or do you have to break it down???
Lego Customs 0401 Posted August 13, 2016 SOme parts of the ship are modular, so moving it is not a problem. It takes 2 people though, due to the weight ;)
KevinYoung Posted August 13, 2016 No doubt !! Its a beauty can stare at it all day.

Azrielsc Posted September 9, 2016 Love to see the progress of your huge build! And it is so lovely to see you add some whimsical scene, like the bowling alley, to your ship. Adds a bit of humour to the entire build. Finally, the greebling of your ship is fantastic! Can't wait to see you complete the ship, hope it is not another 3 years more to go :)
iammac Posted September 9, 2016 Don't let the haters touch the bowling lanes! Although I don't need to wonder why a clone hasn't ever beaten a Jedi on board.....Or why a Jedi has never bowled a game under 300. Although I would recommend using cones and not cylinders. That might get the neck of the pin better. Amazing build, do you work for a professional company or is this a hobby build?
