Citizens of the Brick Seas,

The following prizes have now been surveyed and are ready for auction with the following minimum prices (50 % of license value):

4A Sleeping Siren 150

4A Blood Diamond 150

4A Cold Heart 150

4A Catfish Supreme 150

3A Damned Carno 125

3A Onishiit 125

3A Cougar 125

2A Symphony of Destruction 75

2A Winger 75

1A Cpastone 38

1A Unnamed 1 38

2A Unnamed 2 75

2A Unnamed 3 75

2A Unnamed 4 75

(5HA Killing Spree and 2A Cargo Hold have been offered as compensation for lost vessels.)

The auction will run as follows:

  1. Bid in this thread with the name(s) of the vessel(s) and your maximum bid(s).
  2. First bids takes precedence. Do not bid if your bid is lower than the existing maximum. It will not be considered.
  3. The deadline is the 5th of July (Anywhere in the world).
  4. Winning bidders will be charged as follows:
    • 2/3 chance to be charged the second highest bid/minimum price. Only earlier bids will be considered, so there is no driving prices up.
    • 1/3 change to be charged a random number between second highest bid and maximum bid. This is to avoid people placing unreasonably high bids to deter others from bidding.

[*]Bids in edited posts will not be considered! If you edit your post, you will have to resubmit your bid in a new post.

Please ask any questions you might have here, and I will try to clarify the rules as necessary.

Unsold prizes will be sold through the prize courts and total proceeds will go towards the common prize pools, shared between all captains in the squadrons.

Sincerely

George Robertson

Undersecretary of State

Not that I'm interested, but

Bounty from recaptures

Vessels recaptured will be returned to former ownership against a 20 % bounty of license value

Faring little better was the joint Eslandolan and Oleon fleet under Commodore Wyndzon. Cruising along the coast of Balondia, they encountered the fleet of the dread pirate Zubious Van Wreck. Taking the offered bait, the flotilla sprung upon a small cutter, the former Eslondalan vessel Wringe (now fitted as a ship of war), and brigantine Cougar intent raiding the coastal villages. [...]

Also, I'm placing 2 bids:

4A Sleeping Siren: 160 DB

4A Blood Diamond 160 DB

@Legostone:

I am pretty sure that is based on loose rumours, but if the vessels identity can be confirmed by the proper authorities, you shall have you vessel back.

Questions:

1) Will one have to build a MOC for these ships after buying the license?

2) If I already have 3 ships and I get a ship via auction for 100 DBs: How much will I have to pay?

And to clarify: are these ships considered already licensed?

Considering that every vessel owned neither by a faction nor by an NPC needs to be build, the winners of this auction will have to build the ships.

I would expect the typical way of dealing with that: if you win, for example, a class 2A (cost 150DB), you would have to pay the cost you pay for the ship you won + what you would pay extra for being over 3 ships (in that case that would be 75 DB). This is at least how this was handled at the last few auctions.

@Captain Wolf:

Why else would anyone want to bid for one? But you would still have to pay the diminishing extra costs if you already have over 3 ships (As I said, that was how it was handled for the last few auctions).

Just to confirm: Yes, I believe this is correct. These vessels certainly will need to be MOCed, unless they are faction bought and under the 5 non-MOCed ships allowance.

Good to see so many bids already - I hope we will achieve good prices for the benefit of all involved.

Questions:

1) Will one have to build a MOC for these ships after buying the license?

2) If I already have 3 ships and I get a ship via auction for 100 DBs: How much will I have to pay?

1) If you want to use them, yes.

2) Yes, same as always. More than three vessels activate the extra fees. These fees are calculated based on the license value. (Similar to captures. )

And to clarify: are these ships considered already licensed?

Yes, these are licensed. If you MOC them (and possibly pay an extra fee for 3+ ships.), you can use them.

So if I get a 2T (base price 100) for 20 DBs via auction, and it is my fourth ship, will I:

a) have to pay 20 + 10 = 30 (+50% of auction value)

or

b) have to pay 20 + 50 = 70 (+50% of base value)

All over Bastion, Terelli, Graneleon, and Belson, as well as in several of the colonies, the following poster hangs, promising a great opportunity:

Hear ye, hear ye!

The auction ends tomorrow, and there are still plenty of opportunities for bidding.

Do you need an escort, or a vessel for adventure? Or perhaps a warship to hunt pirates of prey on your enemies? Then now is the time to bid for some of the wonderful prizes brought in by our brave sailors.

Don't miss you chance for the deal of a lifetime!

The Brick Seas Purge of 616

4A Blood Diamond, Eslandola: 170 db

4A Cold Heart, Sir Stig: 173 db

4A Catfish Supreme, Eslandola: 155 db

3A Damned Carno, Elostirion: 125 db

3A Onishiit, Elostirion: 125 db

3A Cougar, Elostirion: 125 db

2A Symphony of Destruction, Tomsche: 75 db

2A Winger, Umbra-Manis: 76 db

2A Unnamed 2, Elostirion: 75 db

2A Unnamed 3, Phadeout: 75 db
