Gunman Posted June 13, 2016 (edited) Do you like Angry Birds? I do a lot... By the time I first saw our fat Angry Bird-friend named Bomb the decision to buy the set was set. A few months ago, when I first read about the release of Angry Birds theme, I had in my mind the idea of mixing one of my medieval mocs with Angry Birds, in order to make the moc looking like an Angry Birds level. (I recently did this for an exhibition of my LUG, I opened the set next to the table with the dioramas, picked up whatever piece caught my attention and made a mixed level-like medieval moc.) The figures from the series is pure win... Their design is very well made and their colours are interesting, with personal favourite (as I have already mentioned) the fatty Bomb. Lets call Rambi, who resealed the set, by the time the exhibition was over in order to make a review for you! That's why I won't show you the bags included in the set, but all the pieces as a whole. Hello everybody...! I am a bit tired after the recent exhibition, but ready to review an amazing set. The set is LEGO 75825 Piggy Pirate Ship who recently came out in the market. Theme: Angry Birds Set: 75825 Piggy Pirate Ship Parts: 614 Figures: 4 Cost: €69.99 Shop@Home (DE) , £59.99 Shop@Home (UK) , $59.99 Shop@Home (US) The Box (Its Glossy, the first time I have seen such an shiny box, the illustrations department guys in LEGO do a great job it seems... Also its clearly written on the box "Ship does not float" ) The fatty we were talking about... Bigger than the rock! Its a pity the small yellow bird (canary??) isnt included in this set, but you can easily acquire it by buying the much cheaper set 75821. The ugly "bad creatures" are funny too... At the back side of the box, the various play functions of the set are illustrated. We're gonna talk about them in a while. The set contains just one instructions booklet, but with many pages. (many times, a whole page is used just for adding two pieces in the set) Its not something premium regarding its quality, just a usual booklet. Starting the review... Lets see.. what else? The minifigures ofcourse Pirate Pig He is the best one, between the two bad guys here.He has a cool hook-hand and an amazing pirate hat! Lets not forget to mention the golden tooth (this figure is unique to this set) Leonard The ugly one... Well we cant avoid the failed figures He got a beard, side teeth and thick eyebrows... What else to make him uglier? (also minifigure appears in this set only) Red The diva of our companions Very cute figure and well designed.... He is a bit bullying too... (Red appears in 6 sets, with different mood styles in each set. At this set his look is a bit relaxed ) Last but not least, I left the best figure... He can't fly... but he can hit you hard... he weights 250kg.. .coming from the tropical Thailand forests... His name is... Bomb! Bomb (exclusively in this set) You don't want him sitting on you... All the figures together. Now let's take a look at the pieces included in the set. Here are the reddish brown, red, dark flesh and pearl gold pieces. (a 2x4 reddish brown plate is missing from the picture) Here we can see the pieces which worth taking a further look at. The big curved reddish brown piece is included only in this set and I find it pretty useful for mocing. I also find pretty useful the dark flesh watermill-like piece and the reddish brown "columns". The cool crown also caught my attention... and also the dark flesh "wood"printed tiles are very well made. Here we can see the dark bluish and flat silver pieces of the set. Interesting pieces: The curved pieces, with the pin holes can be used for rugged curved mocing, I find them really useful! ) Here we can see the white, trans-clear and tan pieces of the set. Interesting pieces: (The big gear instantly caught my attention... I have no idea where to use it at the moment but I really like its huge size! The eggs are pretty cool too! I also find the white technic connector really useful for connecting technic axles together. ) Here we see the black pieces Interesting pieces (The small tire is very funny too.... Very thin ) Last but not least, we see all the leftovers together with a forgotten 1x1 dark bluish brick Interesting pieces: (the plant is really useful but above all I like the cloths, really nice design) So... Let's start making our ship. -Red, will you give me a hand? -Ye, let's go! Pff... This tile is a bit heavy... Part one is ready... Let's relax... ( We just finished the "catapult" who is able to thrown away the birds ) Let's go on to the second part... Here we can see how is the basic moving mechanism is being operated, and later on, the "watermills" and the "moving paddles" gonna get attached to it. What are those things..? What I am making here??? Ah... I see... Second part is finished too... Let's relax now. Ouch.... my body hurts... Owww... man..... Someone get me outta here... At the moving mechanism we previously saw, the paddles and wheels got connected. With the movement of the ship they are going to move back and forth. Let's hide the crown to our secret cellar Hmm... Let's see how we gonna make those eggs... (the watermills also got attached to the moving mechanism) Let's start making the masts... A lot of wood in this set... This section is finished... Let's go for the next one! (I really like the look of the two gears here... Such an awesome design...) Man... I have to be careful if I really want to finish this set... Hmmm... What do we got here?? Candies??? Yummy.... (The ship is starting to take shape ) Let's go for the next section...! Fixing nets... pfff I am exhausted... Let's hang the cloths now... Our ship is finally finished..! Taram...! Below can see how the finished moving mechanism is working. Here is the whole set finished. As expected, it has a futuristic design, being Angry Birds, and I really loved it! I will keep it for display for a while for sure! Spare Parts Critique: Initially the thing that made me buy this set were the minifigures.. (Bomb ) but after opening the set and watching all those pieces inside I said its really worth it. Design: 9/10 Exactly how it should be, being an Angry birds set,no more or less. Price/Pieces: 8/10 A bit high price, because of the license, but if you really interested in the minifigures you should buy it. (at bricklink, Bomb goes for around 10euros) Playability: 10/10 An amazing set, made for play and laugh. Many play functions and a rugged structure! Construction: 9/10 Fast and interesting construction procedure which is really entertaining. Total: 9/10 I think its one of the best Angry Birds set out there, with amazing parts and minifigures! WhiteFang Posted June 14, 2016 Nice review, do you think by any chance, could you add a poll in this review? I am not a big of fan of Angry Birds but those new parts are very appealing.

Alpinemaps Posted June 14, 2016 Great review! While I enjoy Angry Birds (the game), I was a little skeptical about the sets. However, being a lover of all Lego ships (that aren't your standard "city" ships), I thought - hmm...this looks interesting. And I was right. My 4 year old and I put this thing together, and we love it. Lots of fun little things on it, great playability; it will go on display and hopefully be joined by my Sea Cow (once I finally break it out).

Alonzo Brickovsky Posted June 17, 2016 Excellent review! I'm generally disappointed in Angry Birds sets as I don't care much about the franchise and more importantly, I don't like the amount of large parts which seems too <insert that tiresome argument> to me. But then I'm not the main target I suppose... anyway, your pictures are spotless, and fun to watch. The price is outrageous, high up there with the most expensive SW sets. It must have been a very money-consuming licence.
Aanchir Posted June 17, 2016 (edited) Excellent review! I'm generally disappointed in Angry Birds sets as I don't care much about the franchise and more importantly, I don't like the amount of large parts which seems too <insert that tiresome argument> to me. But then I'm not the main target I suppose... anyway, your pictures are spotless, and fun to watch. The parts here aren't any larger than the hull pieces on any previous LEGO pirate ship, even the AFOL-oriented ones like Imperial Flagship and Metalbeard's Sea Cow. In fact, they're considerably smaller. So I don't entirely get that concern in regard to this particular set. Edited June 17, 2016 by Aanchir
