Fort Carpaccio

Recommended Posts

Here's a MOC I discovered on a French Lego forum.

The pics are not of the highest quality, but good enough to show this wonderful fortress.

That's very impressive, pity we don't have a name to go with it. It looks more like a real fortress to me - square structure with four-sided ramparts.

The only thing that's always such a shame with this and almost every MOC is that people go to such lengths with the model but don't take care with the display, hang a blue sheet behind for the sky or put the model on a blue or green blanket, atleast something!

If we don't have a name then where is this "Fort Carpaccio" title coming from?

We do have a name for the fortress. The one the creator gave is Fort Carpaccio.

I agree with Mr. Whipstick that it's sad when someone spend days and hours building a MOC, but are rushing the picture taking part. The right background (outdoor even for this one) and better light would have done much more justice to this MOC.

Problem is most people aren't photographers and lack decent cameras which is why we see this half-hearted efforts in the photography department.

Well I'm really not the most technically capable when it comes to doing digital backgrounds of sunsets and such but it takes very little effort to put a blue board behind the MOC's or take them outside into a natural environment like Bonaparte suggests. There are some great models but I find it hard to appreciate them when my eye is distracted by the mess of the house or room in and around where the model sits.

Yeah, I agree about the blue background. Getting an A2 sheet of cardboard is by no means a challenging or expensive feat - it's probably the least difficult aspect of MOCing.

Nice fort, but it looks rather deserted. The pictures is a bit dizzy, but indeed it's a nice fort. Like the white/red coulorscheme.

Yes, it's a bit - shall I say, Alamoish? Particularly given that structure looked abandoned most the time.

A couple Armada figures would look good. I like the water feature too. I wonder if someone could edit the photos onto a pre-rendered background, would like quite impressive.

Bonaparte, so there was no member name or e-mail attached to this on the French forum?

His username is "wend" and he's put his msn address on the French forum (jsvfr@hotmail.com) which might be the same as his emai address. Feel free to contact him and invite to our discussion.

For such a nice construction it's getting a rather dismal response. Is that because of the picture or because of the time of year do we think?

It is because it is work in progress + there are no minifigs in sight.

It looks great for a start and most people would like to see the thing completed before making any comments, at least that is what I think. Some of the roofs are not entirely finished and it needs some habitants (soldiers) first.

And it is Christmas time, many regular visitors are offline.

That reminds me... Merry Christmas! X-D

If the creator happens to take some decent pictures when construction is complete this MOC may be worth frontpaging.

More than anything it's because the creator isn't here to answer questions and make comments the way he/she usually is. At any rate I've taken the information from Boni and e-mailed him to join our discussion so he might show up, we'll see.

Nice Fort!

Isn't Carpaccio some kind of Spanish soup?

Yes, it's basicly cold tomato soup, and it a nice soup for the Spanish climate.

Wonderful! MOCs named after food.

I think I'm gonna call my next ship the HMS Salami.

Hmm... Well that's already happened... look at the Frankfurt, it was a town and now it's a sausage probably better known to the non-German world than the town is. Likewise Hamburgers are now the edible residents of the city of Hamberg. Mind you there are a few cases of serial cannibals in Germany and I think I'm finally beginning to understand why. X-D

Personally I'd like to see a Fort Blueberry Waffles with Maple Syrup as the name of the governor. :-P

Hello

I'm wend, the builder of Fort Carpaccio (from Vittore Carpaccio).

Thank you with bonaparte for its invitation.

Thanks to excuse me but my english is very bad.

This construction is in progress, when she'll be complete, I'll make good quality pictures.

This construction is a test before a big Moc project, an imperial port in south America or a Colonial port in India (I bought 3 set 7418).

But, at the moment, I don't have free time to work on this fort, maybe, next Sunday...

I wish an happy new year for all the eurobrick peopple *sweet*

Hello Wend,

you don't have to apologize for your bad English.

On the French legopirate forum (where I found your MOC), I can hardly communicate because of my bad knowledge of the French language :-$

It's very frustrating for me...

It would be great if you could keep us informed on the progress of this very promising MOC of yours.

And also for you, a happy New Year ;-)

Hi there Wend, and welcome to Eurobricks!

No need to apologize for you English, it's not that bad at all! It certainly isn't as bad as my French.

I also signed up to a French LEGO forum, but my French is so bad, I'm afraid people would find me stupid!! :-P

Anyway, I'm looking forward to updates on your fort! :-)
