Forresto Posted December 3, 2016 I'm actually very confused at the moment. When is the release date of the new sets? Are the RO sets coming out sooner and the Phantom is coming out in January?
VaderFan2187 Posted December 3, 2016 NZ prices are up. Man, $89.99 for the A-wing? A bit more than I'd hoped. And $69.99 for the Phantom is a bit too much. Not sure what Desert Skiff ($69.99) and Landspeeder ($49.99) have going for them, as their piece counts are too low for those prices. Duel on Naboo for $49.99 is great though, and Yoda's Jedi Starfighter is good too at the same price. Battle at Scarif at $109.99, okay, but not great. Same price as Takodana... so minifigs could've been better. Y-wing at $129.99... alright. But not superb.
YellowCorvette Posted December 3, 2016 Not offense here, but I think it'll be better if we focused more on next year's set rumor rather than ranting (I know that I also complaining a bit but still....)
benderisgreat Posted December 3, 2016 Guys stop complaining about prices! Last time this happened 2016 topic was locked by mods. If you want to complain there's a topic just for that. Yes prices are high pretty much everywhere outside of US, but this topic isn't for complaining!

But we're talking about the prices... which are related to the sets! Okay, I will stop, but prices are related to sets, so it's not off topic! How about phrasing it this way: A-wing's a little small for the price... (A-wing being the sentence subject)

Why would anyone want that to happen?

Why would anyone want that to happen? True Anyway, to those who don't like Lando's smile, he has an alt face, which is serious. Looks ok from what I can see. Raddus looks like a great, detailed minifigure. Comes in the great Y-wing too! I like Duel on Naboo... though the part Obi Wan hangs on to (a red stud) is a little too close to the wall for me... they should've removed the wall to give Maul more space... and that single curved wall looks weird anyway
JekPorkchops Posted December 3, 2016 Yeah they should've moved the part where Obi-Wan hangs a quarter section to the left (closer to the ray shields) so that there would be more space for him to jump over Maul and cut him in half.
Hokierespect Posted December 3, 2016 Are there updates to the potential UCS sets for 2017? Are we still working with the 'Snowspeeder' and maybe one more in the fall?
Supersonic Posted December 3, 2016 The battle packs are up on the German site and they actually reduced the price! They're 14,99 again instead of 16,99 like the last few years. That's pretty great news, especially since both battle packs are close to perfect anyway (the rebel one with its four different torsos, heads and helmets is magnificent). No idea if or how this should translate to other countries' prices, but it's a really nice surprise.
Mymaker123 Posted December 3, 2016 (edited) Ok, so apparently ALL of the new sets come out on Dec. 16th in the U.K...(just checked the A-Wing and Phantom and they've changed to Dec 16 from Jan 1 yesterday). Very weird...I'm actually kinda annoyed if this is true since I have a buying ban on for December due to Christmas, and it makes it less special on January 1st when the sets aren't brand new but 2 weeks old. Back on topic, anyone else noticed that the box-art image for 75171 calls the shoretroopers "Scarif Stormtroopers"? Weird that they're called that since the one from the Striker is named correctly, and it's not as if it's done to differentiate the two variants (since that same set also gives us a new Cassian/Jyn with the same name as in the U-Wing...) getbusybrickin Posted December 3, 2016 Ok, so since the release date appears to be the 16th in many countries, can we expect a December 16th release date in the U.S. or since photos have not appeared on S@H in the U.S. do we expect a different release date? Wow, that was unexpected. Now I have to debate whether to buy the Phantom for £35 using my VIP rewards, or wait until it goes on sale somewhere.
Tariq j Posted December 3, 2016 (edited) I wonder how that will affect the sets that are listed "retiring soon", will they all retire on the 16th or will Lego retire them in the New Year? Edited December 3, 2016 by Tariq j
Alexastor Posted December 3, 2016 It just means they are no longer being produced. They will be retired when they are sold out. They aren't going to pick an arbitrary date and shred the leftover sets I think :)

Magmafrost Posted December 3, 2016 (edited) Dec 16 for Australia too, so maybe they'll turn up in stores late Jan/mid Feb instead of the usual late Feb. Edited December 3, 2016 by Magmafrost
MKJoshA Posted December 3, 2016 The reason us Regulators and Moderators are being so strict against complaining is that this isn't a site for complaints. It's a forum to positively talk about one of our favorite hobbies. Saying "Man, I wish the prices for the 2017 sets weren't so high, now I'll have to wait until they go on sale" is acceptable. It's a positive way to state something that's affecting you concerning the 2017 sets and it might give someone else the idea to wait until there is a sale. Saying, "Lego! Why are you gouging us so much with these ridiculous prices!" is not because it accomplishes nothing. It's just complaining. And complaining breeds more complaining. I'd rather we limit all opinion comments and just share news like, "Hey guys! Just say the prices for 2017 sets, here they are!" But since we don't have another topic for people to discuss their opinions on 2017 sets this one will have to do. Just try to refrain from the complaining. jdm44 Posted December 4, 2016 Here's my quick thoughts for the wave: Duel on Naboo - This set is very similar to Carbon Freezing Chamber which I liked a lot for its price range. It's nice to get all of these characters in such a cheap set. I'm looking forward to seeing some mocs made with multiple sets. Y-wing - This is my favorite set from the wave. The minifigures look awesome and the Y-wing looks likes the best LEGO version yet. I can't decide if I'm going to display this with my OT collection or with the other Rogue One sets. Battle on Scariff - There's nothing mind blowing about this set but I still like it. I think it'll be a good way to display a bunch of troops and a few vehicles. I liked Battle of Takodana for the same reason. Desert Skiff - I have the 2012 Skiff but I'm still excited for this one because of the minifigures. Luke, Kithaba and Lando from the 2012 Skiff will go great with this set. It also doesn't hurt to have another Skiff since there were two in the movie. A-wing - I have the 2013 version which I really like so I'm not super excited for this set. The fins are definitely an upgrade. I really like the Rebel Ground Crew and of course General Lando. Landspeeder - This is my least favorite set from the wave. We're not getting anything new. The Landspeeder is slightly different than the 2014 Cantina version and all of the minifigures are repeats. I guess it's nice to get another Tusken but that really just makes me sad that we don't have a Bantha. Battle Packs and Microfighters - All of the minifigures look great. I especially like the Imperial Pilot, Death Troopers and of course the OT Stormtroopers. I also like the mix of different Rebels. I don't care for the builds so I'll be throwing the parts into my parts collection. Yoda's Starfighter and The Phantom - They both look cool but I don't collect Clone Wars or Rebels sets so I won't be buying either one.

People cannot complain and must post in a positive way? Is this something thats in the rules of this forum? I agree that scrolling through many posts with nothing but complaints in a thread about rumours can be irritating, but to say how people should post is 'not cool'.
