That Y-Wing looks astounding. Instabuy for me. Great selection of minifigs as well. It's been confirmed to be $60, right?

Bunker Battle looks weak IMO; its only draw are the Scarif Shoretroopers.

Also quite surprised to see the new Rebel pilot minifig in the U-Wing instead of the Y-Wing MF! All the more incentive to get the U-Wing.

Finally, while I'm glad we're finally getting OT Stormies in a BP, I noticed that they differ slightly from the ones we already have - the "vents" on the side of the helmets of the new ones are in grey, not blue like the old ones.

Can't wait to see the rest!

Very very happy with the battle packs. I held off on buying a bunch of the newest OT Stormtroopers and now I'm very glad I did. Also I like that these Death troopers are different from the ones in Krennic's shuttle. It'll be nice to have a couple of squads with pseudo leaders.

Liking most of those sets. The imperial trooper set is a multi-buy with no regrets, I like that. We've complained about the lack of cheap stormtroopers for years, well, here's the final answer.

I'm not a fan of Y-Wings so it's "meh" to me, though the figs are very enticing, I may have to bricklink them.

I feel the same

So it looks like the Y -wing has a bomb bay feature

That's Mumb Bai feature

The best thing about the rebel pack is that they don't job things up with two aliens this time. We get it: the Rebellion is "culturally sensitive" - that doesn't mean, however, that every 4th dude in my army has to be a Rodian.

Haha. I only got one of that set, for pretty much that reason.

I'm unsure if I should get the new Y-Wing as I have the previous model, however the minifigs are really enticing :sceptic:

Isn't 75078 cheap Stormtroopers, though? I've picked up a few of those this year.

I'm going to pass myself. I have the previous model, and this really doesn't look like an enormous visual upgrade. Now, the next time they release a B-Wing, provided it isn't yet another 1-plate-thick-wings hack job? I'll be all over that.

Well, there are those that didn't appreciate the "frowny face" of the Rebels stormtrooper, and won't use them in their OT setup. Just like the PT v CW style difference.

I got 3 or 4 packs for a Rebels collection.

The Y-Wing looks great. The stormie is a little out of place, however, and I would have liked another rebel instead.

Bunker Battle is meh. Great fig selection but the actually build is just a landing pad and a doorway to nothing.

I like the Y-Wing microfighter but the other are all misses to me, ie. the generic fig in Krennic's shuttle and the U-Wing just doesn't look good in micro form.

The battle packs are both instabuys. The walker in the imperial one is pretty cool, but obviously I'm going to buy it for the Death Troopers. The rebel pack is outstanding both in terms of builds and figures (Those helmets  )

Can't wait to see the OT sets!

I only have one problem with this winter wave of Rogue One sets - NO SAW GERRERA???

I noticed this glaring omission, too. A retailer exclusive, perhaps? Or the summer wave?

I'll be getting a lot of imperial battlepacks, along with the bunker battle. I don't really want that Y-wing as I have the last one, but I assume it would be cheaper to buy the set than to get Raddus and Moroff alone.

Aren't there 3 known ranks of shoretroopers? If the one in the Striker is an officer and the two in the bunker are normal, aren't we missing one more variant?

That's what I was thinking. If the summer's "Imperial Hovertank" is a cover up name for another Rogue One set, he will most likely be in that. Hopefully, this summer we get another Imperial TIE Fighter, because I really can't see us getting another hovertank, unless there are different types in the movie.

The one included with the striker is a captain, the one missing is the squad leader, who has less grey on his suit amongst other things.

The shore troopers really deserved some side arm prints to make them justice. And yeah the glaring ommision of Saw Guerrera... could very well be the retailer exclusive, I hope so.

By "old ones" I think you mean the Rebels variation which have blue vents (classic trilogy stormies have grayer vents).

I'll be getting the Imperial Battlepack (although the mini-walker is probably going straight into spare parts) and the Battle of Scarif. I'm a bit disappointed the two shoretroopers are identical though but I like that the Jyn figure has a helmet so you can reuse her as a genuine imperial if you don't have the Tie Striker set. It's nice that the Deathtroopers have different torso prints to Krennic's shuttle as from the trailers it's evident deathtroopers do have a variety of kit (albeit probably not stud shooters...sigh).

I kind of like the Rebel Battlepack but they missed an opportunity to include all the new helmet variations in one place with just two caps and two the same as that in the ATST set).

No, I'm talking about the old OT ones (or the ones that came out in the past couple of years). I'm not talking about the "upside-down" V-shaped vent thingamajig. It's the vents on the side of the helmets - I'm looking at my OT Stormie from the UCS Slave I and the side vents are blue, not grey like in the BP! Or am I just really bad with colours?

EDIT: Okay, so it's dark blue-ish, but the side vents in the Imperial BP look clearly greyish-black to me! What do you guys think? The Stormie below is from the UCS Slave I.

Thanks for this image, didn't know there were less detailed Deathtroopers. I thought they just didn't have pauldrons. Still not a fan of less detailed minifigures. I mean Deathtroopers are supposed to be most elite type of Stormtroopers, and they just don't look so elite to me without extra details though.

This is my personal opinion so yoi can agree or disagree...I know where you're coming from a collector's perspective but not all troopers must have pauldrons and extra print because they are supposed to be the most elite. I don't mean they should be bland or plain either. To me, the Deathtroopers in the battle pack has enough details to be collectible and be cheap enough for army building.

Having said that, I will be getting a few Deathtroopers with pauldrons to lead the elite unit. :)

If you see the latest RO trailer, in the starting scene where Krennic is leading about 10 Death Troopers to see Galen Erso - look closely and you'll notice that only a couple of them (closest to Krennic) have the pauldrons. The rest are just standard Death Troopers.

I think they are preserving the pauldron to signify either rank or a type of specialty. This has always been so in most SW stuff. The most common were even retained for EP VII where Red is for officers, White for Sergeants or non-commissioned officers. This also means the bulk of any imperial army would not have guys with pauldrons on them.

Despite that though, I do wish one had come with the shoulder piece, same for the regular storm trooper. This would have allowed folks not set on buying Krennic's Shuttle the option of having officers/specialists. For multiple buys, one could simply leave off the piece and have a chosen few as the leaders.

I just checked back the history of microfighters and never once a new mold was used for a mini-fig, and now the U-wing gets one, which may hint at some rebel vehicle for the 2017 summer ( OT X-wing, never 2 without a third lego ) . Luckily microfighters mini-figs are ''cheap'' on bricklink.

I'm thrilled for the rest of the winter wave, and especially anxious about the retailer exclusive ( If Galen and Guerrera can be in a set together :O )

How is it worse than 7658? The canopy has a more accurate print, the shape of the hull is closer to the original prop, has more greebling, better and more mini figs?

Sure you can pass if you have this model but no way do I see it as an inferior model or less attractive to new collectors.

I agree the cockpit's better, its everything behind the cockpit that I have a problem with. I prefer how the greebling on 7658 looks, although the glaring lack of brown is an obvious problem. I couldn't care less about the minifigs in either of the two, and while some people obviously do, its the build I dont like anyway, so they're irrelevant.

But its the nacelles that really get to me. They're just so, so much worse. I get why Lego had to change the macaroni brick mold, but it really hurt y-wings. And that doesn't even come close to being an excuse for using stickers instead of brick-built greebling. Plus, the way 7658 was able to build the nacelles made for a really unique and interesting building experience

The Stormies from the Rebels battlepack are actually completely different.  They have a different torso print - the chest plate is more rounded at the bottom and their is less detail on the midrift with the rebels version.  The legs are also different - OT stormies have a double line down the centre, Rebels ones have a single line.  I have loads of the rebels ones (probably 70% of my stormie army), but I tend to put them towards the back with OT ones in the forefront - especially when on parade for the Emperor!

Edit: sorry , I realised the second I posted you were talking about the OT stormies and the ones from the new battle pack.

Those are Northern hemisphere Summer sets so likely not until next year - possibly at the New York Toy Fair which I think is in February.

Hmm. The left knee (the only one viewable on the boxart) looks the same to me! What are you referring to?

I'm fine with the minor change, though. I didn't army build the old OT Stormie, but the new BP looks prime for army building.
