Description:

Corrington's first settlement on Alicentia, Mooreton Bay, is named after the famous Corlander General Sir Charles Moore. Moore was a hero of the Juniper War who was killed leading a valiant rearguard action that allowed the main Corlander Army to escape an overwhelming Oleon invasion force. Together with the free settlers, a small contingent of convicts were present at the establishment of the settlement. These convicts will be awarded plots of land in return for a set amount of labour determined by the severity of their crimes. As with other Corrish settlements in the new world, Mooreton Bay is founded near a native settlement, and co-exists in close cooperation with the natives in accordance with a formal treaty between the two peoples.

Nickname: The Wind Catcher

Geographical Features: A large irregular island, formed by a volcano, most likely, the Wind Catcher has a diverse terrain and is fairly large. It has rich soils on its west end, and many natural bays and plenty fresh water. It has varying elevation, but its peaks have been worn over time. It may have an active volcano.

Rumors: The soil of the Wind Catcher is excellent for tropical plants. Her native tribes are peaceful, and there may already be a Garvian settlement on the island.

Looking for some quick cash while the trade shipping is becalmed???

The Corlander settlement of Mooreton Bay needs Residences, Artisans and Factories and will pay for you to construct them in the settlement!

For the first 4 licensed properties I will refund you the full cost of the license plus 10DB.

Alternatively if you don't wish to licence a property in Mooreton Bay, I will buy the 'plans' for the property from you and license it in the name of the settlement. In this case I propose to pay the builder the same amount as the licence cost and include the 10DB bonus payment.

The Department of Time has come to Mooreton Bay with the opening of a Bell Tower in the central square. Licensed as a small cultural building.
