[MOC] Homeworld - Hiigaran Destroyer

Recommended Posts

I built this for my love and interest of the RTS Game Homeworld. Check out my flickr album for comparison shots in-game vs. this model.

Stats: Five months design, two months to source and build, just under 11,000 pieces, 57 inches (L), 15 inches (W)...

What an incredibly accurate model! The sheer massiveness is incredible, but the level of detail is equally high

Orange being my favorite color, I quite like it as an accent here

I agree with soccerkid, except that I am not so much into orange - but I am impressed by the shape of the destroyer - very well done!

Thank you both - this was a challenge (for me) to get the shape right. Angles like this aren't something I've honed my skills on with LEGO before - this was definitely a learning experience.

Beautiful job on this model!

Are there any lights on it? Just a few blinking lights on it would really make it come alive. It's already a spectacle, but lighting could make it even more spectacular, IMHO.

Hi Sparkart - that is the next step. The inside is hollow and in the dark areas on the sides just below the top, there are trans-color plates for light to show through. I figure if I can isolate those areas and put some blue light behind the engines it would top it off.
