[MOC] 10 light-years...

Recommended Posts

Consciousness…

I remember… The fourth step of reawakening in the Cryo-pod is the return to consciousness… If I’m waking up, that means we must reach our goal. Ross-154. After 10 years at lightspeed, we’re finally there, Marc and I. I’m so eager to see him agan, even if for us, it’s like we fell asleep just yesterday....

When ESA announced they’ll send couple of astronauts for long term exploration mission, we saw our chance to start a new life. Specialists said that being in couple will facilitate life on board of the exploration spaceship, and make isolation more bearable.

In a few tens of minutes the Cryo-pod will wake us completely and we’ll start our new life among the stars. Together!

Haha, the Princess face is perfect! RIP the other guy, though.

Very nice, Bob!

Brilliant sci-fi detailing all around, the whole scene tells a story by itself. You made good use of the trans green and trans red tiles for each chamber, and it's easy to see there's no happy ending in store here :cry_sad:

Great build; you really did convey a lot with just a few different bricks between the chambers. Brutal little storyline!

Aww. That's so sad, and so wonderfully depicted.

But when she wakes up and realises she's alone... What then?

Excellent build, Bob  The Cryo-pods are great and I really like the floor tiling. The angled walls are really nice as well :classic:

Great work! Congratulations both for the story, and the execution of your MOC!

I really like the Cryo-pod system, and all the nice details you placed! :classic:

Love it! The cryo-pods are beautiful, both in design and in the changing of just a single trans-coloured tile to help tell the story. And speaking of tiles, for me it's the two tones of blue tiles running perpendicularly through the build that really bring it all together. It's gorgeous! Actually, I just noticed another detail - the trans-light blue cylinders in the vertical pipe on the left seem to represent that there is coolant running through the pipe, as the trans-clear cylinders in the pipe on Marc's side seem to indicate that there's no longer any coolant flowing to his cryo-pod. Was that the intention? It's a lovely detail!

Thanks everyone

Your tiling is terrific! And it is driving me nuts... I cannot seem to be able to replicate it... How is it done?

Under the 2x2 tiles are 2x2 tile wth stud and 1x1 round plate placed alternatively and in diagonal.

Yes that's intentional. You can also spot a 1x1 round brick in trans light blue on the left Cryo-pod. The one on the right Cryo-pod is trans-clear.

Yes! I see it - where the tubing connects on the bottom-right of the cryo-pod on the left. Lovely detail.

As the great poet, J. Geils once wrote, "Love stinks. Yeah, yeah."

Nice diorama with an effective story.

Nice use of subtle details like the green vs. red and the sticker on the right side control terminal. Beautifully executed scene and nice story telling too. Not all stories have a happy ending.

Amazing how you can tell such a story in such a small space, the little story you added makes it even more sad though
