Ideas for CMFs

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! Welcome to this thread :classic:

Here you'll find my wishlist for CMFs, which I illustrate with drawings. I'm not a professional designer but an amateur and I do this just for fun. The CMF theme is one of my favorite LEGO themes ever and collecting Minifigures is one of my favorite hobbies.

I'm always looking forward to get some feedback which helps me to improve.

I like them all except for the Traffic Guard.

He looks like he could be a predator.

But the drawings are all really well done.

Thanks for sharing this with us!

My favourites are the Organ guy, I'd buy as many as I could for the monkey alone, and the town crier. Would also like to get the business man and of course the troll.

The galactic traveler could use the already made spongebob piece. Love your drawings, by the way.

Concerning the Galactic Traveler, you wouldn't even need new mould for his helmet/head, you could just use two of these:

4518410.jpg

And a regular minifig head...

Still I like these ideas, my favourites are organ grinder (Classic Pirates Monkey FTW!), Puppeteer (I love his "Evil Puppet Master" looks, plus that mini puppet Robert8 is just adorable), and Town crier (I need more 18th century minifigs, plus I love the Tricorne/Ponytail combo, BrickWarriors, make it happen!), and Robotics Engineer (is it just me, or the robot look a lot like EVE from Wall-E?).

Those are really well drawn! They look professional.

I particularly like the piper. The troll would be my favourite if he were not fleshy. Perhaps the troll would look better in green: sand, olive or lime.

This actually feels like a real series, and I'd buy most of them. Well done!

Those designs are really impressive! They look official. Also, I liked your choice of purple.

I really think you should put some of these in the wishlist thread. I'm sure Lego would like to draw inspiration from at least one of these. Great job!

Really like the gymnast, robotics engineer, troll, galactic traveler, lifesaver guy, and giraffe suit guy. Would love to see some of these designs in a future CMF someday!

All of these are pretty cool. They would be welcome additions to my CMF collection. I especially liked how you used the hairpiece of Gail the Construction gal from the Lego Movie CMF set as the architect's ... nice re-use of an existing part! If I had to nitpick, I would say I am not the biggest fan of the Galactic Traveler since we just had an astronaut in the last series, but I'd still get him. Good job!

Thank you for your nice comments everyone! I really appreciate it :classic::classic::classic: Glad you liked them!

Don't worry. He is here to help! Nothing else

Thank you for the feedback. I'm aware about about Sandy Cheeks' bubble piece but I dislike that piece because is very loose. So, I tried with another idea. I'm not saying that it's better, it's just something different :classic:

Puppeteer (I love his "Evil Puppet Master" looks, plus that mini puppet Robert8 is just adorable)

The Puppeteer was originally a castle character based on Clopin, from Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame and the puppets were the S12 Princess and the S12 Jester, but I decided to change him for a "dark twisted circus" character. Glad you like him. He is my fav from this wave

and Robotics Engineer (is it just me, or the robot look a lot like EVE from Wall-E?).

The troll would be my favourite if he were not fleshy. Perhaps the troll would look better in green: sand, olive or lime.

The Troll was originally sand blue, but he looked very similar to the S13 Cyclops Lady. Same with green he looked similar to the S9 Cyclops

I wanted him to have his own distinctive color scheme in the CMF line, so I used this troll as reference for the color palette:

I didn't think of that... maybe you're right

You guys know me. I never make jokes or sarcasms.

But in case you were serious, don't worry. I hear he's been vouched for:

I like most, but not skydiver, traffic guy or spaceman. I'm not that keen on the robot controller, but the little robot makes up for it. The mime's face (in the single picture) looks like it would be used for sex-dolls though.

These are completely awesome designs, Robert8!

I immediately would buy them if TLG released them!

Keep on doing this great stuff! Do you plan more graphical designs of custom CMFs?

A great series of CMFs. My favourites are the Southern Businessman, Puppeteer, and Architect, but it is really hard to choose since they are all well done. Would love to see them made into a series!

Unless anyone has a mime fetish, I don't think that would happen.

These are really wonderful and look quite professional. You've captured the essence of the minifig line really well (good ratio of common/uncommon characters balance etc.). The galactic traveler is probably the one I'm least keen on because, although I like the idea, I don't think there's much to make him stand out from the other astronauts in the line. Even with his neat helmet. I'd probably give him some different accessories, like a star map, in lieu of the gun.

I hope you share more!

Thanks for your kind comments again!

I'm planning to around 20 series of minifigures, but I work on these on my free time so it will take a while before the next series is ready.

The mime's face (in the single picture) looks like it would be used for sex-dolls though.

Maybe, but that would be kinda weird haha But yes, she is similar to the S12 Princess kissing face in that aspect.

I wanted him to be like a cartoony character, like the typical spaceman with the giant bubble helmet and the laser gun. Maybe that's why he looks so simple. But I love your idea of a star map. I'll try to use it at some point. :classic:

Really like this set. My favorites:

  • Gymnast (having been a gymnast myself when I was a lot younger, this one appeals strongly to me)
  • Galatic traveller: space, always a win here
  • Southern business man: this one is hilarious, love it
  • Troll: great design. I would go out of my way to get a bunch of these
  • Lifesaver guy: would be great next to chicken man, penguin man and banana man
  • Architect: I like the design on this one, especially the blueprint detail
  • Giraffe suit: well, see lifesaver guy ;)
  • Robotics engineer: that mini robot, way too cute.
