5 Modular Building MOCs

Recommended Posts

Long time Eurobricks follower. Finally got around to registering. Posting some photos of five modular buildings that me and my three young kids recently completed and added to our town.

As my best ideas are usually originally somebody elses ideas, I want to call out:

  • Light blue / Dark Orange building - consolidation of the work of Kristel (copy of 1st floor of her Beloved Belle), Tobysan (windows from recently posted Victorian House Modular), and Brian Lyles (copied roof of his Amsterdam hotel with some mod to window framing).
  • Red/Brown/Tan building was influenced heavily from Snailad's (aka Andrew) Rua Amarelo

The other three buildings are more original in design although I have been indirectly influenced by much of the lego works of art on these pages!

Sorry, no interiors. Open to any and all positive comments and constructive criticism.

Amazing builds! I love the black and gold building. Is that supposed to be a Chinese/Japanese restaurant? What about the other buildings, are they purely apartments or do they will they have other functions? The blue one looks like shop while the building next to it could be the local council office?

Great builds with good looking facades. The black building is very cool due to its unique look. The different floors of the bank clash a bit too much if you ask me (black vs sand green) but maybe thats just me.

Ezaida - Good question. Not sure that I have really thought it all the way through.

The bank is the obvious one. Originally built this over a year ago before Brick Bank was announced and then subsequently built right across the street. Recently modified again but expect they are still losing business to the more prestigious Brick Bank.

Black/gold building is Chinese restaurant on first two floors (including balcony). Possibly illegal gambling on the 3rd floor?

Other than that, I am open to suggestions.

Peedeejay - I can see your point on the black and sand green. I have modified that building a couple times and still not enamored with it. Back to the drawing board!

Very nice builds. Thanks for sharing. Nothing wrong with being influence by others. I like the bank. Had to take another look it, after reading through the post of peedeejay as on my first look I thought the middle floor was dark blue. The joys of colour blindness.

I love the black building with the asian influence. The different colours and architecture the side edges and brick and flat finishes put me off on the building next to it though.

Nothing wrong with borrowing with pride.

Nice Job.

What a way to introduce yourself.

Great buildings throughout, though I agree with the black/sand-green color clash. But that's really the only negative thing I can find. My two favorites are propably the dark orange/light blue and the red/tan building.

Fellow Late-On-The-EB-Boat member!

I know that the Chinese restaurant where I live is run by 1st generation immigrants, and they built their home above their shop. Maybe that's what the third floor is, and perhaps you can post interior photos?

It looks good though!

Fantastic work here, I especially like the dark red/white/sand green building!

All the various window designs are superb and the sand castle on the beach was a nice touch as well
