Vintage and classic lot

Recommended Posts

I bought a 15kg box of lego last week from a local second hand shop.

Here's what I've managed to pull out of it so far.

Stills lots left to sort.

Hmmm... I wonder what set could be in there ??

DSC05668_zpsmjwzvcaw.jpg

some bits missing but i havn't had a swoosh in over 30 years, so i couldn't resist

DSC05671_zpsyizkmfg0.jpg

DSC05669_zps28c2qgpj.jpg

only missing 3 wing bits 2 stands the tail piece and the red airtanks

All bricklinked and on their way

I my opinion this set is worth more than i paid for the whole 15kg box, so I'm well happy

Wow, you acquired two of those slopes with the classic space logo.

Earlier this year I was happy to find a fair amount of the grey stands in a PAB box at my local lego retail store.

Should have most of the necessary pieces to build LL928 now.

Loving the old shell myself, still a few (2 or 3) vintage shell sets hiding in the lot.

I was over the moon to find one classic space slope but even more excited to find the second one.

But only one trans yellow slope and no other numbered pieces so not sure what other ships are in there yet

Definitely some of the smaller space sets though, But i prefer to get the bigger sets out first.

Over 100 vintage windows of all colours and styles so still trying to figure what sets they are all from.

When I'm done I'll sell off one large set that should cover the cost of the whole box (€40) meaning the rest is free lego

I also pulled out some really old bricks

DSC05674_zpsn1if3adu.jpg

The red 1x6 closest to camera seems to be a diffirent plastic to the rest slightly opaque and lighter red than the rest, but all have lego on the studs

Then there is this small lot

no lego markings but seem old and feel like a similar plastic to the lego marked bricks

They also have as good a clutch as lego

The only markings found are numbers inside each brick but ever brick has a different number.

So are they vintage lego or not??

Bearing in mind that not one megablock was found in the whole 15kg box :look:

No info on bricklink, that i could find

so ditch them or keep them?

Well todays sorting was slighty disturbed by finding another smaller lot in local adds

only 4kgs this time in a plastic bag.

A quick look in the bag looked good

and here it is after the first shuffle and sort

DSC05681_zpsgjdbwezi.jpg

DSC05682_zps21bmkyld.jpg

Not hard to guess what kind of set most of the parts are from

but which castle, I never knew there was so many

so this is my first castle that i've built and it's King Leo's

Missing the large 3D base and the green 12x24 base but it seems most of the parts are there

DSC05684_zpsw24wklt8.jpg

No other buildable sets in the bag going by the leftovers

DSC05685_zpskkxr9epn.jpg

But how awesome is King Leo

DSC05691_zpsbimfffiz.jpg

Not a bad little lot, and all the old grey will be coming in handy soon

I now return you to normal service

So Lots more sorting went on over the week end and a few more sets brought back life.

DSC05696_zpsnlydctnl.jpg

Loving the old trees

Wrong baseplate on the house but the windmill is 100% correct and complete

thats the set the old tubeless bricks are from.

DSC05704_zpssv3ncfeg.jpg

London bus complete but wrong colour tyres and one number 7 brick kind of melted

The bus is meant to be a number 78 but I spent 5 years going to school on a number 87 bus but ours where orange not red :classic:

DSC05708_zpsdr7tjrcn.jpg

Another taxi joins the rank

DSC05707_zpspajqdqxz.jpg

Love the caravan. the fancy windscreen only appeared in 2 sets.

DSC05705_zpsxb5f4qx8.jpg

3 complete shell sets but i modded the service car. It should have stickers and not printed bricks. the bricks are from the fuel pump set but i'm missing one pump readout sticker for that set and the bricks look better on the car.

DSC05701_zpsdgnp3uio.jpg

Fire station, wrong baseplate ,Lego flag pole broken and yellow ladder missing off fire engine.

DSC05709_zpszhefdgxe.jpg

Island Hopper complete with all assessories but no Minifig :sceptic:

DSC05710_zpsjcvzmgsk.jpg

Group shot, the castle looks the right scale for my new old village

Still reserching other sets

this lot never ends.

Oh yeah....the road baseplates came from the same lot, got 4 all together but one has some wierd stains that i tried to clean off but only made it worse :hmpf_bad:

You have Armada minifigs and some equipment for them in the lot? Lucky you. Only too bad their helmets aren't there (yet?).

Yeah I noticed when i was reserching the minifigs that i had a few parts from the 6291 Flag ship set. but only very few parts, Like 10 0r 12 pieces that could be identified as belonging to the set. that whole bag of lego was really dirty and sticky and stunk like wet dogs, my hands where filthy when i finished building the castle so the rest was washed and sorted straight after i was done with the castle, still have to wash the castle. so no helmets. when i buy bulk lots i keep them apart from the rest of my collection until I'm finished sorting them, the castle was the only set worth the hastle from that bag and i'm going to part it out after i wash it. It really is luck of the draw when you buy second had unsorted lots.

Managed to pull another really nice set out of the lot

Set 392 from 1975 Identified from the trans clear slope and red technic wheels

DSC05729_zpswldb8zfb.jpg

Complete except for one white axle and stickers

This one brought back a flood of memories

It's the first set I learned to build from heart and i remember my younger cousin pushing it down the stairs, that was the first time I built a set without instructions.

I was about 6 or 7 back then

I loved this set back then, so happy to see it again.

slowed down a bit with sorting this lot, being messing around making moc's instead.

But back at it today and found these nice little space sets

DSC05808_zpsigeccozf.jpg

so happy with the one on left even if space guy is missing his raygun, because I've had the set sealed for years and have been tempted to open it a few times..

DSC05809_zpsyhxfzgdr.jpg

No more temptation, it can stay sealed for a few more years now.

Still about 4 or 5 small space sets in the lot, some identified and a few maybe identified
