Well the ship is too modern a design to belong to the Armada forces given really the Spanish and Portuguese would be more at home in Galleon's. Of course this ship could be Iberian just not of the Golden Age era. Likewise I'd follow this logic for the Dutch so in all reality the ship should be British/French/American. This being the case Soldiers or Imperial Guards would be more ideal though I'd recommend red uniforms given the ship is largely very red and it would tie in nicely.

Perhaps the nationality of our ship is best determined by the name of the ship. Notice how for example the Americans name their ships after places or people, whereas the British name their ships after adjectives or concepts.

Have a look at this wiki article: List of French Navy names.

I use it sometimes for inspiration.

That's a really nice ship, i really like the colour scheme and the different levels. Did you base it on a real life ship or picture?

Do you know how many bricks there are yet?

Anyway, good job man! *sweet*

This came to me last night when I was in bed funny enough. I thought if I was to make a large French battleship that I'd call her 'The Maid of Orleans' as this reffers to Joan of Arc which is a very potent symbol of French nationalism from the Hundred Years War. Also as we think of ships as 'she' it seemed appropriately strong, fierce and graceful but then that was just my thoughts obviously.
