March 616 - Eslandola's Escorted Trade Routes

Recommended Posts

To the Worthy Citizens of Eslandola,

This month, the Empire of Eslandola has three warships available for escort duty.

The Secretary of State has drafted three routes. These are open first of all to any Eslandian citizen. If after the 25th of March there is still room available, citizens of the other nations may apply as well. Sea Rats will need a note of legitimacy from a respected authority. (How do you get that? I have no idea. If you're interested, you might want to get the letter ready before the 25th, so you can be first in line.)

Slots are granted on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Clouding Blues: Low-Medium Risk. Escorted by the Dark Lighting. Designed for two (2) speed ships. Run is full.

  • Pato Moreno, kabel - Flotilla A
  • Aurei Lacerta, Umbra-Manis - Flotilla A
  • Winds Beauty, LegoStone - Flotilla A
  • Stubborn Stern, Captain Braunsfeld - Flotilla B
  • La Transferata, Titus V - Flotilla B

Dragon's Teeth: High Risk. Escorted by the Queen of Terreli. Designed for two (2) speed ships. Run is full.

Double Duty: Medium Risk. Escorted by the Trovão. Designed for three (3) speed ships.

  • Heart of Eslandia, MCTC - Flotilla A
  • Wringe II, LegoStone - Flotilla A
  • La Raenette, Faladrin - Flotilla A
  • La Defensora, Captain Green Hair - Flotilla B
  • The Golden Star, Maxim I - Flotilla B

> How do I participate? Sign up in this thread for a slot on the run of you choice. Post a link to your build and be sure to specify what type of license you have. If you haven't done it already, fill out the ship license form.

Once enough members have signed up for your run you will be invited to a PM thread with your fellow merchants. There, you will receive details on your route.

When the MRCA form is ready, you'll be given a link. Then just follow the directions on the form and you'll be ready to go!

Important! Eslandola provides escorts but does not guarantee safety!

So what are you waiting for? Let the sign-ups begin!

Capt Ludwig Saxchsenhauser is feeling confident after two successful runs, so he will bring The Bright Owl (Class 2T) on the daring Dragon's Teeth run. Third time's the charm. *Knocks on wood*

Alejandro de la Calle will send the Fenix (class 2T) on the Dragon's Teeth run. Having outrun many pirates last month he is feeling a little cocky.

Román Esteban Fontonajo is quite sad, seeing the Queen of Terreli sail away before his inner eye. "Clouding Blues", he says, signing up "The Cotton Lady".

(in case there are more than three slots in the "Dragon's Teeth" run or in case one of you bails out, I'd sign up for that one ofc)

Elosterion, there are five slots a run.

I'm signing you up for the Dragon's Teeth.

I'm also signing the Heart of Eslandia (5T) up for Double Duty.

I'm also signing The Golden Snake (2WR) up for Dragon's Teeth.

Dragon's Teeth is full.

Will fix! Thanks!

If I sign up for the Clouding Blues run, could I bring my own 1A?

Sure.

Edit: But it might not be able to go the whole way (how many zones can a 1A travel?).

A 1A is limited to travelling within one zone, making it rather unsuitable for escort duty. :)

A class 1A is one of the few types that is limited to one zone.

So then, I guess, you could bring it along for one zone. But not really a whole lot of point to that.

I thought we discussed this somewhere but I don't remember where. From what I understood, the convoy can only go as far as the slowest ship... is this not correct?

If that's the case, I was certainly not aware of it... I was under the impression that a ship with less zones would stop after reaching its max. But I could be wrong.

From what I understand, this has to do with the function of the tabletop gaming style movement in the MRCA. The ship level determines how many spaces a ship can move in a given turn. A whole convoy, in game, moves at the level of its lowest leveled ship.

The Wringe II will be joining the Double Duty convoy...

The Double Duty convoy is designed for ships with a speed of 3, and the Wringe II just has a speed of 2. I'm checking with Ska to make sure that that won't slow the other ships down. If it doesn't, you're welcome to join, but you won't be able to visit all three ports.

The Wringe II should be a class 2F, it shouldn't slow other ships down.

Sorry about that then, I had forgotten that the Fs have a speed above their class. You're good!

Felipe's ship La Raenette (class 2F, speed 3) will follow the Double Duty road this month.

EDIT : Forgot the link to my build.

Am I correct that there is still room for a couple of speed 3 ships in the "Double Duty" run?
