Very nice. This has many similarities to Lucio Switch's Tractor Truck. Did you start with that as a baseline?

Thanks! To be honest I tried not to copy Lucio's truck and I do not have any instructions of it, Lucio gust gave me some advices via PM about it's presentation etc.

And during the building I was looking after his truck to make correct proportions and find any decisions to upcoming during the building problems.

In some sense you are right, Blakbird!

It does not seem to represent any existing brand.

But besides Lucio's truck, is there any brand it takes after?

No, my main aim was to build something new from my fantasy, from my mind and not to build the 100500th Arocs or Scania, for example...

I can see some inspirations here and there from my tractor truck, but not so much!

Really good job!

I would have tried to be a little cleaner on some lines, but it's a question of taste.

The only thing is that I would have liked to see in the video how the Sariel's gearbox works, powered by 4 XL motors. Does it manage all the torque with no problem?

You could build a Daf XF or CF SSC for a change, don't see many of them on EB

Or just rebuild it under the Daf

The gearbox itself does, but I connect motors not perfectly and some gears are crunching on the 3rd and 4th gears. I'll try to replace it with knobs.

But if the torgue will on the full power you can damage the gears on the transmission I think. More safe is to use motors on wheels with tee train RC as you did.

Amazing feat to build such monster! Great functions implemented. I just can't understand (and I bring up this question quite a lot) - is is even worth motorizing the drivetrain for such giant truck? Is it... fun to drive around given that low speed... plus parts are getting stressed a lot? This is more like general approach question, not just focused on your model :)

I think this is a good question, and perhaps even worth it's own thread. I think the answer is just a matter of personal preference. Some like to add motors not really to drive and post with so much but rather to demonstrate they can. Also makes it more impressive when sharing. For many the"play" they get out of technic is the building.... Not so much the driving things around. Lets be honest, imo, even things built with like the rc buggy motors aren't really that fun to drive. Maybe for a second but that is about it. If you are really looking for something fun to drive then rcing is what you want

Actually you are both right guys! If you want to drive and save your parts from broke - build medium scale car or big scale, but not a 5kg monster.

I have fun during building and designing the car. From the early beginning I'm not planning to drive it 24/7 :)

^ I'm sure you had. An'd it's incredible tbh. Perhaps even for the sake of the very fact that it can move on it's own (no matter how slowly and painfully) it makes some sense to implement RC driving. I'd just probably chose to save my motors (if I had any in the first place :D :D ) for some models where these will actually be reasonably used :)

I suppose for the very first project of a such big scale it well done enough.

Anyway now I have any experience and idea for the future project...
