Dead Man's Rock, Bastion Harbour

License type: Residence (small)

Capt. Rhys Flaidd DeTaillefer

.....Sandbank? More like small island.....there's just enough of it that stays dry, even during a Spring Tide..

We built a dock and small bridge to connect her to the lighthouse proper....

I have a small porch on the roof that allows me to survey the harbour during my down time from the ship.

I've been working on improving the navigation maps for our captains and helmsmen....

Really cool that the two connect! I also like your style of building wooden sections

Following your scrambled lighthouse, this build also follows the "imaginative" architecture of the Sea Rats! I like the fact that they are connected and that wood is prominent as it should be. Overall a fine build!

 (now that i found where thumbs up emoticon is, i will abuse it!!! pirate_tong.gifpirate_tong.gifpirate_tong.gif )

Clever the way you've combined both of your builds, but focusing on the shanty, I like it. A nice structure that has all the air of a fun little Caribbean pirate hideout. The rooftop deck is a great addition and something that I would expect most seafaring captains would appreciate.

I approve .

Clever joining two FBs. The shanty feels very cozy. A fine residence. Avast, conflict of interest, I can not approve.

Also, respect for that thousand stud water technique.

lol....yes! I realized I did not have enough studs for the "pile method" so I went this route....with 1x2 tiles for some added texture....not too bad in the end...

Very tedious placing them all with the rest of the structures in place though! pirate_sceptic.gif

Nice looking residence - it looks very fitting for a pirate, and I like the ramschackle, yet sturdy appearance, as if it was built by expert hands from a limited selection of materials.

I do hope this picture is painted at high tide - otherwise that boat will drift off when then flood comes! pirate_tong.gif

Very nicely integrated with the lighthouse too! I approve.

The shanty looks great by itself - nice and smooth, good design, lovely palm fronds - but the combined arrangement is excellent. The connecting bridge is nice too. This is a good way to get multiple builds from an idea.

I like the water technique and the sandbar looks good. How big is the base, either seperate or altogether?

Good work. Approved!

How big is the base, either seperate or altogether?

It's built across 3 32x32 baseplates.....the "treads" for the bridge turned out to be remarkably finicky....much more rigid than I expected.
