42055 - Bucket Wheel Excavator

The white dump truck is just accessories, man, the main set ain't got no tires

Dang, imagine how many tires the real machine would need if it had tires, just to bear all that weight.

Speaking of parts, I bet the total number of pins, all types included, will be at least 1500. I don't remember which set it was, but I think the Arocs had close to, if not just above 1000, and the BWE will have like 1200 more parts.

I don't mind the color vomit with red and yellow axles.

12+ square frames

12 is a big understatement. The undercarriage alone already has 12 frames. The upper belt has 26 frames. The lower body of the turret has 10 frames. So at least 48 frames already.

I counted 12 on the most recent posted pic, but I expect a lot more, hence the + behind it :sweet:

If you have a significant other, better buy something nice for them before this set launches ... especially that there are 4 must-have sets out there (BWE, Clarion, Volvo, Porsche). It's going to be an expensive summer.

Can we please stop making jokes about having people having to sell their wife/girlfriend/dog/sibling/porn collection/dog/kidney/whatever to afford this set? Yes, it might be expensive, but the joke has officially gotten old. There, I said it, I feel better. I might have to dig out my handtruck in order to get it home, though.

If we send emails about how many things we have to sell to afford this set, maybe Lego will lower the set's price

Well said.

Think about it. How clever is it to offer to sell the woman who accepts you for the man you can't help being? :classic:

The box for Merc Arocs was massive... the biggest box I have seen yet... even bigger than the Star Wars sand crawler.

The box for the BWE is probably going to be even bigger. I think I'll have to clear out the spare room to keep the set when it arrives :classic:

Sorry, but this simply isn't true. I have both of them, and sandcrawler box is definitely bigger. Arocs box is identical in size as 42030, and slightly bigger (thicker) than boxes for previous flagships,eg. 42009.

Just to add to last couple responses: Sandcrawler's box is ~5cm thicker than Arocs'. Check Bricklink.

With no set number given I wonder if Cehtunger could have meant the 10144 Sandcrawler from 2005.

Just a thought.
