Durango & Silverton K-36

Recommended Posts

Howdy,

This is my attempt at an outside frame narrow gage K-36 locomotive from the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gage Railroad, in Colorado. This is without a doubt my favorite train, and it was a fun challenge to build. I'm sorry I don't have many pictures at the moment. I'm try and post more later.

great job with the outside counterweights! creative use with the funnel. Is it tired?

So on the one hand that is a fantastic build, on the other hand, how do you expect to show it off if you present it on such a detailed layout? Or to put it another way, the rocky slopes and detailed trackside are a strong contender to the locomotive. You did a top notch job capturing these low slung narrow gauge workhorses. Nice work hiding the PF too. You hit all of the details on the locomotive, and the passenger car is equally well done. I like the snotted bricks for a wood sided effect.
