Another great alternate. I think this model is even better than your previous roadster. Although I've never heard of a boxer 8 cylinder :look:

Great. Simply amazing! I like the flat V8. It fits perfectly in this sports car.

Incredible, what you make just out of the parts from 43039. Congratulations!

The best 42039 roadster so far. Well done! The only downside I see are the seats and steering wheel - too small for that scale. But, heck, still awesome!

Don't wanna be a jack, but there's no such thing as "flat V8". When all the pistons are moving on a same surface on opposite sides of the crankshaft, the engine is called "boxer". When two rows of cylinders are at an angle, above the crankshaft, the engine is V-type.

Well, your link proves I'm right. It says in the article, the flat engine is otherwise called Boxer.

An engine CANNOT be flat and V at the same time.

Immo,

You probabily missed the point (I understood that only after reading the article 3 times...!)

Boxer engine is a flat one with cylinders moving in opposite direction

The so called "Flat V" or "180° V" engine is a flat one with cylinders moving in same direction

The key is: boxer engine uses one crankpin for each cylinder, while "180° V" share one crankpin for each pair of opposite cylinders.

By using Lego parts, one can build a "flat V" type of engine, not a boxer one... Until today, at least (I'm hoping the next Porsche model will introduce new engine parts to build a true boxer).

Anyway...

Really great model!

Thanks for the instructions! What a great set 42039 is... Now i got 5 models to choose from.

And the best, you saved me from spending 299 euro's for the Porsche.

Very nice build!!!

When 2 opposing pistons share a crankshaft pin, it is a flat V. In a true boxer each opposing pistons has it own crankshaft pin, so they in or out together, they "box". Ferrari F1 were no boxers.

The download link is not working. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks

My recommendation would just be to search up this model on Rebrickable.com to see if it's on there, but otherwise I don't know.

For the instructions simply search the internet for "the spawn 42039". It took me two more clicks to get the instructions...

Sorry. In recent years I have not been very active in the world of Lego construction. I will try to build more often after that.

Regarding the description, I uploaded it to the Rebrickable page.

Hi. Thank you for your inquiry regarding the construction guide. I have provided a link if it is still valid.
