By explicit request of His Majesty, the loyal subjects of the realm are encouraged to perform their civic duty by contributing to find names for Oleon's newest colonies in the Prio Seas. In his paternal wisdom, His Majesty has instructed the High Council to list a number of names, from which each of His Majesty's loyal subjects is to select the one for each island they deem most fitting. His Majesty will then take these into account when making his decision.

Island #3 ('The Old Man's Beard'):
Stéphanique
Île Beatrice

Island #7 ('The Island of Clay'):
Île Sous le Vent
Saint Arltrees

Island #23 ('The Crown'):
Île d'Or
La Couronne

So, from the list above, pick one name for each island and post them here!
On Tuesday the 27th we will add the 'suggestions', and the High Council will proclaim the islands' new names.

The latest Eslandolian aggressions against Mardier in the Prio Sea have been judged worrisome. Especially as they fall into a time of beginning reconciliation after much resentment in the close past. Appropriate steps will be taken in this matter.

October 1st, 616AE

Signed,

The Secretary of State of the Navy

Vive le Roi!

As a gesture of goodwill towards the nation of Corrington and to ease concerns about a military buildup, His Majesty has instructed the High Council to issue a general ordinance to the Royal Army that as of October 616AE, the border region of Juniper is to be demilitarized.

October 1st, 616AE

Signed,

The Secretary of State of the Navy

Vive le Roi!

The orders are being carried out.

Lord Maximilian Damaximus, Governor of Stedor, is very curious what reason his excellent tradepartners can give that they prefer supporting Mardier over Eslandola?

The glorious nation of Eslandola is a young nation that once was a part of Mardier. Since we split due to the civil war in Mardier, we only knew a short period of ceasefire, which has been broken by Mardier privateers attacking our fleet (and some other reasons).

If Mardier isn't capable to have a grip on their own islands (Prio, Terraversa, ...), why should they claim islands we would have claimed by democracy?

so once again, Lord Maximilian Damaximus wonders where the loyalty of Oleon and Corrington lays?

it is a weak excuse to explain your reaction by blaming us and talking about balance of powers as the whole archipelago we are talking about is a lot smaller than the biggest of the islands Oleon and Corrington has choosen.

these are the thoughts of the Governor of Stedor and is not the official point of view of Eslandola.

The Truachesh neh Triuri support the decision of the Eslandola Crown. The Truschesh lived under Corrington rule until Mardier aggression swept over the continent. Mardier privateers are no better than pirates, attacking any ship of value that does not fly the Marnier flag, despite any diplomatic ties. We will stand against Mardier imperialism.

On behalf of His Majesty, the High Council is honored to announce the names of Oleon's newest colonies in the Prio Sea.

The island formerly known as The Old Man's Beard will henceforth be named Stéphanique, the island that goes by the name of Island of Clay shall from now on be named Île Sous le Vent, and the island formerly referred to as The Crown is now to be called Île d'Or.

His Majesty and the High Council are pleased with the contribution of His Majesty's loyal subjects, and would hereby like to express their content.

October 2nd, 616AE

Signed,

The Secretary of State of the Navy

@Kolonialbeamter

To the Secretary of State of the Navy

Corrington has duly noted your grandiose gesture of friendship and peace, and know that such an action in a province so close to the heart of our Queen carries great weight.

Respectfully

don Isaac Montoya

Lead Consul

@Maxim I

To Lord Maximilian Damaximus, Governor of Stedor

The loyalty of Corrington lies with peace, the rule of law, and international conventions, not the rule of force and greed. We value our friendship and relation to Maestro, but reserve our right to be concerned when other nations exhibit aggressive expansion in our spheres of influence. As to the distribution of lands, Eslandola has, as well as Oleon and Corrington, had their choice in claiming lands of the newly discovered seas, and must be accountable for their choices. It is also our contention that if Eslandola were truly committed to the conflict with Mardier, such conflict would be resolved in diplomacy or on the field of battle, not in the appropriation of an undefended colony. We hope that you, if not understand, then at least respect our right to react to the actions of our neighbours, and that the friendship between Maestro and Corrington will last through these incidents.

Your servant

don Isaac Montoya

Lead Consul

@gedren_y

In Corrington all beliefs and people are respected, and allowed their way of life, as long as it does not breach the code of Corlander law.

We will expect to see proper military action to stem the Mardierian fleets, then, not secret invasions suspiciously opportune for Eslandian profits.

At your service

don Isaac Montoya

Lead Consul

Brandon Levigne de L'Acadie

29901823400_471886a012.jpgDSC01333 by Brandon Stark, on Flickr

Brandon Levigne de L'Acadie was the fourth and youngest son of the Lord of Lys, a small island under the jurisdiction of Province of L'Acadie. His family, the Levigne, have ruled the island since the medieval times. Knowing his eldest brother would inherit the lordship and it's incomes, Brandon joined the military, fighting in the last months of the Juniper War, where he earned his fame for leading a charge that routed the Corrington infantry.

After the war, Brandon traveled to Granoleon, where he became accustomed to life at the royal court, and met many prominent aristocrats. He married the love of his life, the daughter of a lord in the neighboring Province of Bothnia. Brandon also invested in one of the many companies looking to prosper in the colonies. Now that the King has looked east, towards the new lands, Brandon has been offered a chance to accomplish something. Reluctantly, he leaves his wife, and prepares for whatever fate awaits him.

Perhaps a lesson in history would do you well, sir -- There were many wars between Mardier and Eslandola from the time of the revolution to the present. The recent violations were made by both sides of the Mardier Civil War, which has nearly come to a close now. You should fear the wrath of the Great Old Empire, for her fleets can be turned on the weak Eslandolan fleet now.  The Eslandolans have attacked a settlement that is fully settled by claiming a meager bay on the south side of the island? What happens when the Mardierians decide to take Nelisa?  Stop your rabble rousing in Olean and prepare you own house for the reckoning to come.

-Sid Vicinte, Mardier trader.
