Latest impact of other themes on historic themes

I am not sure. I assume that since they are giving options for a vote rather than a write-in, they already have a few designs prepped that they could go with. All that I will hope for is a description of the animals/symbols that they plan to use, but I would love to see the actual heraldry and a note of the faction’s colour scheme!

I would guess for some concept Arts. Actual Renders seem a bit unlikely to me as they will likely not put that much effort in designs that won´t be produced anyways. And just describing works with Animals but if they plan to include other options aswell it could be harder to do already.

Despite wanting to get an updated Black Knight, I feel it would be best for all new factions/color schemes to be used (unless they want to go all prior existing).  Let them hopefully use an update to an old faction for a future set.  That way, the vote seems a little more balanced versus there being one highly in demand update and a few new options that sound cool but likely won't stand a chance.  Thinking on this more, I wonder how many total figures they'll put in the set, and if they'll potentially have the budget for another fun update or two from another theme that will be a surprise (wouldn't a Seatron alien be a ridiculously fun figure to have in there).

As for factions that could be interesting, a seafaring faction with a serpent or kraken would be cool. I could see them having a not so traditional animal as an option as far as what you think of with medieval settings like a penguin.  They could also make a goat knight though I think they know how that will likely go if it's an option.

Yup, a new faction is what I predicted a few days ago! In my ideal world, I would love to have a phoenix knight but serpent sounds cool.

Looking at the pictures of the announced sets, there is a decent amount of new interesting parts for fantasy MOCs and minifigs.

I'm interested by at least the following:
- the new "gem/rock/artifact/macguffin" of the Monkie Kid sets,
- at least the lady in yellowish green from the Celestial Pagoda set,
- Ariel's hairpiece, and the page from Ursula's book (provided it's not a sticker),
- the Prince's shield from the Maleficent Dragon set (also provided it's not a sticker) and perhaps the three little round tiles from this set and the dragon itself,
- the maps from the City Jungle subtheme,
- the new bubble part, the new flask and the new wands from the HP sets, as well as many of the minifigs,
- and Baby Groot!

Just curious, what is in your mind for use of Baby Groot?

The Friends Castle Bed & Breakfast has the new castle door in Bright Blue, the 4x8x6 turret roof from the Super Mario sets in Sand Blue, and the "leaf cluster" piece in Earth Green! Additionally, the new Friends Adventure Camp sets include both the large and small fern pieces in Earth Green for conifer trees, and a new Brick Yellow (tan) flag piece in a triangular pennant shape, which I figure could be a great new option for knights (although of course it'd be even more exciting to see it in brighter colors or with printing). Finally, the new Friends smoothie stand has rock/thatched roof plates in Reddish Orange and 1x2x2 lattice windows in Medium Lavender — perhaps not the most desirable colors of these parts for medieval builders, but it's still nice to see more color options for both of these molds.

Did you see the new dragon piece from the new Ninjago sets there is a golden one in the tournament set and the Source dragon set has 6 reddish orange ones.  They will be quite useful for MOC's.  So many new and useful pieces coming.

Wow, thanks! I had seen the golden one, but not yet the trans-oranges! June will be a great month for magic-themed MOCs.

They especially stated it would be a new Faction.

And surely there will be more minifigures in there, though I don´t think they will reveal all of them with votes. Less than 8 minifigures would actually be kinda disappointing to me, as it would seem rather empty on the inside then.

My wishlist is quite modest in comparison: the door-with-window slot as first seen in the little 'cheese house' of the Medieval Town Square set.

With the IDEAS Minifigure Prize Machine getting approved, there will be a fan vote to select a new Castle faction emblem for one of the figures that will be included.

That's interesting.  It will be nice to get new heraldry.  Is there a list of what the emblems are to vote on?

No. But they wrote that the vote will be in the next weeks, guess they are still working on them. Anyways, wouldn´t expect that we get any information about what we have to vote for before the actual vote.

Thanks I just saw the post on the idea's site.  Hopefully we will get some interesting emblems to vote on.  I would personally like an owl emblem to be one of them but I highly doubt Lego would do it.

My ideal is a kraken as well.  One of the classic Lego animal is an octopus, they've done several brick built octopus/squids in Creator line recently, and one of the leaked D&D CMF has a tentacle face.  I also want my Viking village to convert into Greyjoys from Game of Thrones.  A kraken would also appeal to Pirates fans.

For non-animals, a rose would be fun for British history.  But you can MoC a shield/banner in many different color combos with the one stud flowers.

A rose is a good call, but would it be red or white? Or both?

Some ideas I think could be cool:

Hydra, Badger, Toad, Ship, storm cloud, Owl, Skeletal Dragon, Drider, Spider, whirlpool, Demon, Angel, Dove, Laurel Wreath, Goose, Phoenix, dragonfly, lantern, Trident, Sun, Thistle, Thunderbolt, scream.

A brick separator could be a fun one off.

Black border, green field, and a split red/white rose!

One idea that I have not see floated is a checkerboard design with multiple symbols (similar the the BAM lion/keys shield). This type of heraldry did exist, but the BAM shield is the only LEGO representation that we have of it.

White! Although they could do red for the baddies too.

I wouldn't mind a fleur de lis, a bit like the musketeer. Although I'd really like the boar head from the CMF Evil Knight.

I think  white and red roes are for good faction while black rose is for baddies.

When is the reveal of the choices? They said something to the effect of ‘the next few weeks’ originally, right? After reading some of the (excellent) ideas above, I’m really keen to see what they really are!

Fan vote is open!

Castle factions are Krakens, Griffins, Bulls, and Crows.  I called it on Krakens being a choice, not the color scheme I initially envisioned but it's unique.

I'm going Krakens, but all are good.  Bulls and Crows are remakes of the Bull faction and the CMF Tournament Knight (factions are listed as updates on the blog).  Kraken I think is the most unique.  I missed out on the Tournament knight as it was hard to find that series when it was out, and I only saw them once.  Would love to have them potentially available at a better price point.  The Griffin looks good with the color scheme, but they say the shape and colors can change from the preliminary image.
