Micah "the Silent" of Wolf-Haven, is the second son of Lord Alexander of Wolf-Haven. Lord Alexander was granted his rank and lands from the crown due to his heroic actions and valiant service to the crown during the 49 Years War. He settled down and had several children. His land is willed to go to his eldest son, but the younger Micah is willed to receive the businesses Alexander owns and operates in the various cities.

Micah was sent off at the young age of 15 to attend the prestigious Archellon College in Bellson. During college, he was also working at and learning his father's business of raising and selling the best horses in Corrington. Upon graduation, he took over as manager of the business expanding it greatly. He even sailed overseas to trade horses with Varcoast and the Mokolei Empire. These trips gave him a taste for travel and adventure. It was also upon these trips that he acquired his distaste for the corruption of religion that the Oleons follow. Upon hearing of the Queen's offer of rewards for any Corrington who can find and settle land beyond Terraversa, Micah began to dream.

In time, Micah enlisted several of his close friends from Bellson to gather together all the funds they could in order to embark on such an adventure of discovery. It would be no small sum that would outfit this expedition, as they would need to buy a ship, all the guns, and hire a crew.

George, a former gentleman mercenary

William, an honorably discharged guard from Bellson

Arthur, local businessman with a thirst for adventure

Caleb, a sailor who had been employed with one of Corrington's largest trading companies and upon whose ships Silent Wolf had often sailed.

The last thing Micah had to do was purchase his own equipment and wardrobe, as well as say farewell to his fiancee, Elizabeth. Though she was saddened to see him leave, she had always known he would not settle down until he had seen what was beyond the seas.

May I introduce Sir James W. Chase (pictured here with his younger sister Elena Chase). Sir James pledges himself to the service of Queen Annetta and takes up a position in her Royal Navy. His is keen to take to the seas and discover new lands for the glory of the Corrington Empire, but not least to collect new specimens from the natural world and indulge his hobby of fossil hunting.

Okay, so if I get this correctly, if we want to found a settlement to put his properties on, we have to ask for a charter right here in this topic, and a Single Founding Charter to create our own little hamlet`s that can grow into cities right?

My goal over time will be to be able to create a small city, which I can also take along if needed as a layout to local events, and put all the buildings as such together on larger baseplates as it grows, but that is still a bit of a way off :-)

Well, here goes then, before I post my first small building hopefully later this week :-)

To her royal Majesty Queen Annetta,

To her loyal administrator Admiral Woodbrose

By means of this writing, I, your loyal servant Sir Thomas Smaugton, would like to request the permittance of founding a hamlet on the lands of Corrington.

I would like to plant the banner of my house on the northern side of the Island of Tiberia, in the hopes it can one day grow to become an auxilliary port of the city of Arlinsport.

To further this ends, I will hope that my relations as a membre of the Eslandolian Trade Company MAESTRO might prove usefull to gain even better trade relations between the Empire and Kingdom.

To this end, I wish to name the fledgling settlement Quinnsville, and will hope to open it`s small harbour once it is completed for trade to Corlander and MAESTRO traders alike.

In the hopes that the Single Founding Chapter will be rewarded to your servant,

Yours sincerly

Sir Thomas Smaugton

Sir Thomas Smaugton,

The Queen's Small Council has considered your proposal for a settlement on Tiberia,

Her Majesty's government would like to offer a counter proposal.

Open a MAESTRO post in Tiberia, we will waive the license fee for the initial headquarters (This means you would pay half rounded up in game terms for "supplies" This is the same Sea Rats pay for properties).

Wait until we have negotiated between the other great powers our claims on the many new islands that we have charted lately. We don't expect there to be war over these islands, and we believe we will have negotiated our claims on at least one, if not two within the next month and a half. (IE: when challenge I ends, we will have one or two new islands to choose from.)

You will have first choice of planting on one of our new islands. We will award you the title of Mayor of the settlement, and you will be her majesty's will in the new settlement. If all goes well, you would be in line for a governorship somewhere in our new possessions and report to Viceroy Oxley.

You may advance to the islands and start planning the colony. (IE: you can start building now, buy licenses, and then place the settlement on the new maps in a month and a half -- we would consider that your character had knowledge of where the Corlanders were aiming their efforts of colonization, and already begun the colony.)

Please let her majesty know what you think of her proposal.

Sincerely,

Admiral Woodbrose

Minister of the Colonies

Your honorable Admiral Woodbrose

It is with great honour that I will accept the offer of her most generous majesty Queen Annetta and will accept the proposition with the greatest of gratitudes.

I will round up any intrested colonists and start preparations for the journey as her Queen suggests (I take that my `free property` this month as such can be placed on Tiberia, then moved later to the new settlement if I understand correctly?) to spread the culture and values of Corrington into the New World.

Yours truly

Sir Thomas Smaugton

I actually meant that you could set up a MASTRO post in Tiberia so that you guys have a presences there, and then start building your MOCs for the settlement. You don't really have to put up a post though if you don't want.

On a further note, I suppose builders could move a license to a new moc, other than a mine.

So, to help me understand the game mechanics better, can you break down what the cost would be for someone licensing a tavern if they are from Corrington vs. Sea Rats? The "map system and owning land" thread only has 1 price for it.

"If they build legally on another faction’s territory a rent will be charged per month, and set by the ruling council / monarch of that faction. IF built on land nobody owns, then the cost for the license is halved (just building materials!)" From here

But I may have misspoke, and this is partially because I wrote the rules, I thought it was in there that since the Sea Rats don't own territories that any Sea Rat on a "Sea Rat" island would set up their licenses for half off rounded up (just the materials, not the pay to the nation). However, I suppose checking with the faction to figure if that is how they want to handle it would be prudent. My original idea was that the Sea Rats wouldn't be paying full fees outside of the established towns. But again, this is actually up to the leadership there.

All ship licenses are always the designated amount, and cannot be halved. However, since factions receive half of all property licenses (later on, as there are people who own whole islands, this money would go to them) they can waive that part of the fee... However, (to other faction leaders) I would not do it often, because this is where a substantial form of revenue and FIPs are going to come from.

Sorry if I'm beating this dead, but just to be absolutely sure I understand: if I build a house on an island owned by my faction, it's only 5DBs. If I build it on someone else's island I would pay 5DBs plus rent per month (decided by the faction leader), yes?

I would assume not in Bastion, since that is your faction -- but that is your faction leader's call. Also, factions have the option to charge rent to foreigners, but they don't have to.

Right, and for now Eslandola has a no-rent policy.

It is my pleasure to introduce Sir Jay Dee of Corrington, shown here dressed three different ways! Sir Dee represents the fourth generation of a family business enterprise specializing in the manufacture of various items important to the Corrington empire. (One of those items is sitting in the foreground...)

I replaced the original photo; I believe this one is much better! This is intended as my sign-up and not the full character intro. The main build was posted in the Pirates MOC forum for a different purpose and can be currently seen there.

Edit: replaced photo

Welcome amongst our ranks, Sir Dee! I was wondering when (and where) you would sign up - and I am honoured you chose to fight alongside us here in Corrington!

On a different note, should we coordinate our MRCA efforts for this month? And am I right in thinking we can use our three royal warships as escorts?

Yes, both Scarst and I are working on a merchant ship for this month, we should do a large convoy with all three royal warships as escorts. (each can convoy up to 5 ships)

Are we going to have a private chat for Corrington's MRCA? Also any way I can get a discount on a caravel license if I don't have any other ship?
