Assuming they follow what the reports say they are going to do and don't change things up, its likely the farm animals will land sometime in September or October (the official launch of the farm animals was June)

I've only seen this reported in the posted Brick Fanatics link however that specifically says:

  • Going forward, the LEGO Group’s intention is to launch novelty elements four months after their introduction – and to release new ones on a monthly basis. Highly specialised elements like printed pieces and animals may take longer to appear, however.

So I wouldn't hold my breath for the farm animals just yet.

I like how printed pieces are considered "highly specialised." I am assuming most of what I want will fit in that highly specialised category (animals and printed minifigures) so I may still be waiting longer for them although hopefully some will be in there. I now realise I need to have dates on my wanted list so I know when to expect things.

I had call to get change my card info on and order and asked about ordering 2 elephant bodies and they were able to put it through. Already had the heads. He did say they were moved to discontinued in their system.

I also called in a few weeks ago and was able to order one elephant body which was delivered a few days ago. But the elephant head I was able to order online was canceled.

By that time I'll have bought half of what I need on BL and the other half as bootlegs. Good job Lego.

This is good and bad news. Good because maybe the cool new stuff will be for sale again. Bad because, oh my wallet!

I do not know Brick Fanatics source, however the other information circulating did not mention animals taking longer time etc. I do not know the original source for that either so will not repost it here, but if it is correct we should see improvements in PAB this fall :shrug_oh_well:

"Standard parts might appear faster, special items like functional bricks may take up to year."

What's a functional brick? I assumed a "special item" meant the opposite of that.
Does this mean that anything but recolors is gonna take a year?

Functional bricks might be things like electric parts or other parts that are difficult to make or produced in limited quantities.

I'm pretty sure motors are/were on BnP even though the Shop sold them separately. It could be that I was looking at a set inventory which included one and it wasn't for sale though.

Functional elements is a whole category of pieces. It technically includes gears too in a subcategory if you look under the menu, but I can't imagine that's what they mean as much as electronics/play feature gimmicks. What it sounds like to me is that pieces which are selling points in sets like new launchers, animals, special prints, and certain minifigures might take longer to show up than recolors and more basic molds like 1x5 tiles and friction pins w/stud. It's up to Lego how they decide what is which though, and BnP has always had confusing choices. (For instance: Why is Dr. Strange's cape one of the few 2022 pieces that have been available since the overhaul?)

Even if the most collectible pieces are still going to be limited on the service I'm just glad they seem to finally have a plan for introducing some new pieces. I need studded friction pins and those new Ninjago mech joints.

I'm not holding my breathe. Let's chat when LEGO actually adds the new pieces.

I know I haven't waited to get studded friction pins.. in all colors.. (and before Lego introduced them actually, so one could say Lego is the clone here, just like with 1x5 plates)
(but still glad Lego did them too, I'm now allowing myself to use them)

Perhaps because it came out in 2021

This. Especially if TLG does not even dare to give the info themselves, but only maybe mysteriously through some 3rd party.

But I don't even remember electric parts ever appearing on B&P(?)

Not electrical but still a complex piece is the City Stuntz flywheel.

That particular part happens to be available (with both orange and grey wheel colors).

The info I have seen has (according to the people who shared it) come from the LEGO Ambassador Network so its certainly "official".

Well, that's what I said. TLG did not give the information themselves but only through some third party. We cannot access the primary source of information which makes this a better rumor. This also means, that TLG cannot be held accountable if they do not hold their promise; which makes you wonder, if that is the reason they only did it this way. We will see.

Um..... Part of the very function of the LEGO Ambassador Network (LAN) is for LEGO to communicate with fans via the "ambassadors" - i.e. everyone in the program.

They don't do a press release about everything, and press releases are pretty much the only way LEGO communicates directly under your definiton. Press releases are for the masses though, and an update about PaB staffing and the intended timeline of adding new parts is not exactly for everyone but for fans, who are best reached through fan media because fans are likely to follow one or another of the many fan media sites/channels. So this really is LEGO communicating directly. They communicated it directly to the ambassadors, and the ambassadors get the message out to the fans.

I don't mean to say you shouldn't take it with a grain of salt. Everything about it is a bit nonsensical when they already had a working system and were getting through orders tolerably fine, and then went and broke that system only to claim they were essentially too inundated to add new parts, while also seeming to say that it was a change in policy decision. I'm not holding my breath for new parts on PaB in any particular timeline, or at all.

But make no mistake, this is LEGO choosing the method it feels is most appropriate and directly communicating the message through that method.

Lego surely kept it secret that the new system wouldn't feature any of the parts just released in B&P, making us regret that we didn't place one last order to get them.

Actually LEGO didn't. They made it kind of clear that not all the new pieces would be added. It's why I placed a bunch of orders before the switch.

where did they state that?

I think that Bricklink would show many sellers with hundreds of this year's new parts, if Lego had made it clear that the newly added parts would disappear for the next 6 months.

When it comes to B+P / PAB, I wouldn't read too much into what LEGO do or do not say anyway, whether directly or indirectly. They have never been good at sticking to what we think are their rules and in some cases, consumer laws. They used to explicitly state that you could not buy licensed parts but have also sold many licensed parts that way in the past, including complete minifigures in some cases. They have also charged different prices at the time of dispatch to those advertised on the website at the time of order without telling the customer, or replaced parts with similar ones at a much higher cost. They say some things aren't available but then allow people to order them if they phone. They say some parts are available, then cancel orders if you order "too many" even if the order was within the 200 allowed. They make their own rules that are ever changing and if they don't want to stick to them, they don't.

But how do we know this? Maybe you are right - sounds reasonable. But isn't the root for this issues that we have ZERO transparency?. The only thing we can ever hope for, is some designers or employees giving us a piece of honest information in an random interview. Like when they said in context to an unrelated topic: "Oh we won't ever make SW Rebels sets again cause they ain't selling" - instead of stating this fact years before, when fans were expecting sets but never getting any (for good economical reasons it seems). With transparency you could shut up a lot of the IG troll-talk by just getting out some facts like: Hey, we'd like to get ya'll some Naboo capitol ships but prequels mostly don't sell while Landspeeders do.

Press releases mostly are corporate BS. Like when they say blind bags will become blind boxes, because of environment. Not because they think we'll blindly buy way more CMF's. Ha  ha  ha....

Maybe the service was a pain in their antistud and this was a convenient way to get rid of it and. Without a modern way of communicating, we can only speculate. And nope, Lego is not outsourcing expensive PR-people by using the ambassador network. For some open questions you could hire like 3 employees, if you let them do their job. Other companies manage.

This void Lego leaves (including the CMF controversy) - is boosting the aftermarket. But who knows if they even care. If you make all them profits and you have supply chain issues, staff shortage etc. - why even care? Then again, maybe this will hurt TLG in the long term or does already and the top dogs are too blind to see this. We don't know much and this debate is mostly trying to kill time until hopefully we have clarity or even improvement.

R.I.P. B&P:pir-bawling: (for now)
We may have been impatient with you. You were always late to the party and you were a mess. But when you arrived you made us all happy.

Some parts such as the Black Falcon torso and the black Dark Knight Helmet showed back in stock the last couple of days, but are already out of stock again. I saw this come up in one of the facebook castle groups where people were talking about placing large orders for the Black Falcon torso as soon as it showed back in stock
